SOURCE: I have high emission on my 1998 nissan quest how

Hi there

There are a few ways you can do this:

Use ultra-low sulphur fuel (not sure if the US has this but the UK does).

Change or clean out the air filter (check my profile for a how-to)

Make sure the EGR valve is connected up properly. This is the exhaust gas recirculating valve, located on the intake manifold. Unbolt is, clean it out with a wire brush and carb cleaner, refit.

Get the Nissan checked again, if it is still high, the catalytic converter could be due a change, especially as it will be 12 years old.

Hope this helps, please vote if so. Thanks :)

  • Burned exhaust valve

Question about Cars & Trucks im getting codes p0300 p1168 p1051 when i took it to advanced. Just wanna know what they mean and what might need to be replaced under the hood. It's a 2004 Nissan titan, V8...

P1051 and P1168 are addressed in a TSB from Nissan, and involve issues with the air fuel sensor on the engine. This may also be triggering the P0300 code if the ECM is not programming fuel properly. I recommend checking with a Nissan dealer to see if the tech service bulletin will cover the issues you're having.

The service engine light came on and the code a service station gave me was a P1168 code. Closed loop fault detected (Bank 2). I looked up some info online and found out it may be a oxygen sensor, which...

Closed loop is defined based off throttle position and the runs off of the O2 sensors on the exhaust manifolds.
The post-cat O2 sensors are strictly for emission purposes.
It sounds like you need to replace both of your O2 sensors UPSTREAM - on the headers/exhaust manifolds.
Resetting the ECU will not get rid of the problem and the CEL will return if the sensors do need to be replaced.

My 2007 nissan quest stopped running while driving down the road and refuses to start now. It popped a bad cam sensor code so I changed both of them and the crank sensor. When I try to start it it cranks...

In the Nissan Quest, 1993-02, the cam sensor is in the distributor and replacing the distributor fixes it. Usually the engine runs when cold, then fails when it is hot. Not usre where it is on the 2007 Quest.

Rich Porter sells reman distributors on ebay for $200.

We talk about it on our website for Villager Quest owners.

P0440, Nissan quest

the most common cause of this in Nissan is a defective carbon cannister vapor purge valve in the evaporative emission control system.

The light "service engine soon" turn on in a nissan quest 2000 I read the manual but i'm not sure about if it is a big problem or not or if Is it a expensive problem ?

go here for quest help

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/villagerquest/

The service engine light on is not a big deal. you just aren't meeting emissions right now.

Go to Autozone and have them run a free scan to get fault codes.

Just remember this - do not ever change the knock sensor even if it gives a fault code. It is in the middle of the engine and a waste of $600 for no improvement. It will never affect your engine performance, good or bad.

report back with code here or on Villager- Quest website I gave you.
