Question about 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500
I installed new rotors, brake pads and parking brake shoes on rear wheels on my 2003 Chevy Suburban 1500 Z71. Parking brake pedal still goes to the floor and parking brake barely holds the vehicle. I've engaged the parking brake pedal several times and released it, but the problem still exists.
The disc brake pads are NOT used for the parking brake. The parking brake uses mini-drum type shoes inside the rear disc rotor.

The parking brake cables may be stretched and in need of adjustment. Follow the cables along to a nut. Then you can tighten the adjusters up on both sides until you have the proper tension. Also make certain none of the brackets are bent or broken that the cables ride through.
