The blower motor is on the right side of the dash.remove the lower right kick panel, the motor bolts in with three screws.the resistor is located to the left of the blower.check your connector on the resistor as these like to melt.you will need to install a new pigtail if this has happened.

The fan on my 2000 chevy silverado only works on 3,4, and 5 what is causing this and how do I get to it

The problem is the blower motor resistor module. It is located on the passengers side by the blower motor under the dash panel.Just locate the blower motor and the connector goes from the blower motor to the resistor.I believe there are 2 screws that hold it on.Make sure you check the connector and look it over for melting or getting hot.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Fan only works on high on 1995 Chevy K1500. I tried replacing the relay(?) behind the glovebox, but no change.

The blower motor resistor is the culprit.Usually is located near the blower motor.Generally an inexpensive repair. However it is possible that the blower motor may have caused the resistor to burn out.

The bower motor is most likely what you are smelling.Replace the blower motor, and the blower resister next to the blower motor if,the blower motor has no speeds.

I have a Chevy 1500 Silverado (5.3) with a heater that does not want to work. I can feel heat coming out of the dash vents, but the blower does not want to work. Anyone else have this problem, or any...

First I would check to make sure there is/is not 12v going into the blower motor.  You can test this with a volt meter by unpluging the two wire plug that plugs into the blower motor.  This is located under the passengers side glove box. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 12V TO THE BLOWER MOTOR (WHILE THE BLOWER IS TURNED ON WITH THE KEY ON) PROCEED TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH.  If you do have 12v, then it more than likely is your blower motor.
If this isn't the problem then I would check the Blower Motor Resistor.  This part controls the speed in which the motor actually turns. (the knob in the dash doesn't actually resist the 12v from the battery causing the fan to move at the different speeds, the blower motor resistor does)  This part is easily changed.  It usually takes about 20-30 mins at the most.  It is located in the air ducting under the passenger's side of the dash.  The part is pictured here... 32bbabb.jpeg

Now.  I have done this work on a 2005 Chevy 1500 and the resistor that all parts stores has is WRONG!!! The listing is wrong! (I work for O'Reilly Auto Parts and I fought with this for about a week trying to find the right one...)  If your resistor has 3 mounting screws (as shown above) you will need a resistor off of a 2000 Chevy Impala (part number RU867   -   It is manufactured by Borg-Warner with a life time warranty.)  If you look it up for your truck (i.e. - 2000 Chevy 1500) it will show a part number RU1064.  This resistor will have only 2 mounting screws.  I don't know why these parts are listed wrong, but they are.
To change this part, just remove the screws, and unplug both electrical plugs.  Thats it.  Then just replace it with the old one.
Any further questions, just ask!!! Please rate!!! Thanks!!!

1995 chevy alumina blower fan motor not working

The problem is most likely the blower motor resistor. I'm not sure where it is located on your vehicle, most are on the firewall under the hood or near the blower motor itself.
