Question about 1998 Subaru Legacy
I have a suburu tribecca 2007 that I was driving and sudently seeing a fire coming from the engine and I park the car right away, but unable to restart. I find out that the car was overheating and the head gasket is gone, I will need to spent over 3000 dollars from the Suburu dealer to fix it. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF SOMEONE ELSE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.

Sounds like you have a radiator leak. I would get it checked out a.s.a.p. Heat is the number 1 enemy of cars. Head can blow if it gets too hot.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
It can be a faulty transmission solenoid, a faulty TCM (transmission control module or can be a bad torque converter. As a first course of action, have it checked before replacing. It's wise to have them checked first than taking a wild guess on what to replace.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi, as an experienced person on this field, the four wheel drive has nothing to do with the consumption of fuel in your car. Either you use it or not, it consumes the normal fuel usage except you have some other problem with your car....
You can use my tips below to know some of the reasons why your car is using too much gas
Tire Pressure Under-inflated or over-inflated tires can negatively affect gas mileage and pose safety issues. Check the sidewall of the tires to see what the ideal tire pressure is and use a tire pressure gauge to see how your tire pressure compares.
Air Filters A dirty air filter can reduce your gas mileage. Checking it, or having it checked every time you have the oil changed, and changing it when necessary can help increase your fuel efficiency.
Faulty spark plugs, dragging brakes, kinked vacuum lines and faulty fuel injectors can cause your car to use more fuel than you think it should. Take your car to a mechanic; he should be able to identify the problem.

The check engine light will set a code, to read this code you must have the system scanned with a special tool. This is not a wiring GREMLIN, trust me. As far as the gas gauge goes you will need to pull the fuel tank out and replace the gas gauge fuel level sending unit.
