If your car runs bad with an EGR code then I would suggest that the EGR valve be replaced. I would like to know what code was set on your computer. It would help greatly. When the EGR malfunctions, you will have rough idle and possible stalling. If you have a code indicating EGR it may also condem the cat converter. Please show any codes that are set. Thanks Moe

97 buick sky lark, replaced the starter. There is a two prong connection yes yellow and purple wires. Cannot find were it goes ?

The purple wire should be from the ignition switch. It would go to the "S" terminal of the starter solenoid.
You may also be able to look up a free wire diagram at in the repair section.

I need a wiring diagram for a starter for a 1997 Buick Skylark 2.4L

If you want to buy a manual for your car, i would suggest a Haynes. They have excellent wiring diagrams. If you just want to get a peak at one, log on to and register for a free account. Once you do, you can add your vehicles to an online garage and view online manuals that include wiring diagrams.

Hope this helps,

I think the solinoid is bad ,it wont engage into

it's 1 of those jobs that you probably want a mechanic to do unless you can see your starter
f it hangs off the back of the motor then have a mechanic change it as the exhaust is probaby right over top of it abd it has to go downwards and can only be accessed from the botom
if it is on the front of your motor then disconect the baterie and look for 2-3 nolts then hold the starter to the motor or trany
after you remove te\he bolts remove the wires dont be afraid to make a diagram of the wires
heck use masking takpe and tie the wires that go together together and mark them usualy ther are 2 terminals 1 for main power and 1 for the starter circut and the starter circut is usualt red and a lighter guage wire

93 Buick Skylark replacing starter...old one had positive post and one one has pos post and two smaller...what wire goes where?

Just hook small wire on the same post that it was on the old starter, don't worry about the other post, sometimes the starters are made for different applactions.

Plug wires

Good Day,

You didn't specify your engine size so here's a few diagrams:

fb6d0e2.jpg3.0L 6cyl

I have labeled these according to engine size, make sure you use the right one.

Good Luck and hope this helps
