Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD

2 Answers

Tail Lights stay on all the time.

On a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 the tail lights stay on all the time. There is no indication on the dash that there is a problem. It is not a parking brake problem. Immediatly after use I turned off the truck and the lights stayed on. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and they still stayed on. Help.....

I have the same problem with a Ram 2500 4x4. It is not the brake lights staying on. It is the tail lights. Also noticed the left turn signal works but the right turn signal stays on solid.

Under the dashboard on the drivers side. look at the brake pedal lever. there should be a switch attached. push switch in and twist to remove. then pull the button as far out as it will go. while holding brake pedal down reinstall switch. then pull pedal up to top. this will reset the brake light switch. if they stay on still, then just replace the brake light switch.

Can't find fuse for tail lights. Not in cluster by steering wheel, not in cluster under hood.

the rear tail lights, license plate bulbs, and the front park lights are all fed off the same fuse. I show fuse one in the dash fuse block (15 amp). If the front amber park lights are working its not a fuse.

Are you sure the bulbs are good? Have you checked the connections in the harness?

Check your tail light fuse, on the dodge ram the dash lights and tail lights use the same fuse so if the tail light fuse blows your dash lights will go out to alert you of no tail lights.

1999 dodge ram 1500 haveing problems

hi the fuse you will be looking for will be a 15 amp fuse as the loading is low on light curcuits i don't
know which fuse no as they fitted 4 different fuse boxes on the rams but you should start by checking the 15 amp fuses with a multimeter for continuety or some time hold a torch close to the fuses and you will see the link broken

Dash and tail lights

I'm not aware of an inline fuse however I think that it's time for a new head lite switch. generally if it is not the fuse it is the head lite switch.
