Question about 1996 Audi A4

2 Answers

My wipers are not moving at all, I believe it could be a fuse issue as they were working yesterday. I understand I have two fuse boxes, one in the engine compartment the other in the trunk . My car is an Audi A4 2002- how do I know which fuse to look for and in which box? I have never seen a fuse box under the hood- so I have no idea where to begin looking.

The windshield wipers on my 1999 Audi A4 were working perfectly until last night when they slowed, seemed to stick to the windshield, and then stopped completely.

I have a '99 Audi A4 as well and just as above my wipers were working fine then out of no where they slowed and then stopped completely. They have come on a few times since then and then stopped again. I do not know what the problem is yet. I will let you guys know if i find a solution.

Check that the splined pinion that the wiper arm fits over is not seized into the mounting bush.
This has happened to two 44's i have owned. Only one needs to be seized to stop both from working.

The one under the hood should be covered by a black plastic cover. This box contains your relays etc. on the inside of the cover it should tell you what fuse is what. Let me know if it helps or if you need further assistance.

Wipers are stuck on the drivers side. When I turn them on they try to move slightly but can't, and won't force down. I'm reading a lot about the motor and fuse box. Any suggestions on where to start?

Doubtful a motor/fuse issue if the wipers try to work. Suspect a seized wiper pivot causing the linkage not to operate. The pivot is what the wiper arm/s attach to. To verify, you need to disconnect the wiper transmission asssembly from the wiper motor and try to manualy move the linkage by hand. In some cases the pivots can be lubricated making them free up and turn again. In most cases the entire linkage will need to be replaced

Were is the fuse for rear wipers on 08 Vibe

If it moves that means it does have power. So not fuse. Most likely a motor, connection or Wiper mechanism internal switch, or lubrication. So check voltage at the power connection at the Wiper mechanism. If 12vdc It's not fuse or wiring to wiper. If it's 0 or intermittent due to car movement while being driven, then a loose connetion. Could also be loose connection on battery side of fuse box. If you are handy, and issue is internal Wiper drive. Buy a rebuilt unit and install.

Windshield wipers not working

what year car?
1: iced up?
2: fuse blown.?
the operators guide in the glove box has these facts. fuse box location.
on must USA cars (LHD) the box in by left ankle. look there. see it?
sometimes the fuse is moved (years?) to the engine bay box.
ever see the box there, look , its there.
the fuse is clearly marked, Wiper.

My windshield wipers on my 1996 Honda Accord just stopped working yesterday and I am trying to check the fuse. When I checked the fuse box, there was no designation for the wipers. Is there an actual fuse...

the fuse is designated.a parts store sells a kit to check for bad fuses if you can't find where the fuse to wipers actually is, i suggest you butth kit. it's cheap, easy to use and comes with all the proper amp fuses for your car for other times like this. hope this helps!!!

Front wipers have stopped working! back wiper still working

If the motor works when the wiper stalk is moved, but the wipers do not move then the retaining nuts for the wiper arms may be lose., but the motor doesn't work then check the front wiper relay if its relay is work then u have to change the wiper motor sorry.

Windows, windsheid wipers and radio will not work

There should be a fuse box under the dash on passenger side. There are fuses to these and this is probably the issue. It may also be a wiring issue inside the fuse box.

Windscreen Wipers Not Working.

Hi
Expect you have blown the fuse !

Get a torch.
Look under the dash foot well panel, and lift off the fuse box cover, on the back of the cover look for wiper pic, this will show you the fuse location.
Pull out the fuse, with the little red tong tool, that should be in the fuse box, or just your fingers.
You should see the little bridge wire melted across the top of the fuse ?
You should have a spare fuse in the fuse box.
Put it in, and switch on the wipers !

Good Luck !

Please give me a FixYa rating, I wan´t to be a Guru !

Wipers wont work

1.  Turn on your wipers and pop your hood.   2.  If you hear you wiper motor, then you do not need to check your fuses. 3.  If your wiper arms are moving freely, then your linkage from the wiper arms to the motor is disconnected and possibly broken.   4.  If the problem is electrical, do the following:      1.  Check the fuse, and check for power at the fuse.      2.  Check the wiper motor for ground. For a complete circuit, you need power going in and ground               coming out.  Check electrical connections for corrosion or poor connections.       3.  Get a wiring schematic and trace power to the wiper motor starting at the fuse box in the                       following order:           Fuse box           wiper switch           wiper motor      4.  In the rarest of cases a wiper motor or wiper switch is at fault.  I do not recommend replacing                 anything unless you have proof that the part is faulty. (ie. power going into the switch but nothing           coming out.)
