Question about 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt Coupe

Open Question

I have a gm13sr but i dont have any chord from the box to the radio

I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt and I was installing a aftermarket head unit, a Kenwood DPX308U Double Din unit. I went to Best Buy to but a wiring harness and they told me I needed a GM13SR, so I went out and bought it. Now my issue is that when it showed up at my house and when I opened it it didn't have a wire leading from the blue box to my head unit. I'm not sure if its supposed to come with one or if the radio was supposed to come with one, but either way I don't have it. What should I do? Is there something else I need to buy in order to finish my installation?

SOURCE: best buy installed radio & speakers bad

Best Buy has a pretty good reputation for installing aftermarket radios and they generally use a new harness connected to the old harness to make it work right.

I would try to have the reception issue fixed by Best Buy before the warranty runs out.

How long ago did you have it worked on?

I'm sure they will make it right if you take it back.

Even, if it requires changing out the radio.

Have them check that the antenna is properly connected to the back of the radio.

SOURCE: I have a 05 Chevy Express Van I need to know what harness I need to install an aftermarket radio other than the $85 1 at Best Buy

$50 at Crutchfield if your van doesn't have OnStar - probably more if you do:

Navigation sysyem in dash

this would be aftermarket installation. with the right head unit, speakers and amps, this should be fine. of course, the gps antenna needs to be installed where it has a clear view of the sky, otherwise, your nav syste, will fail.

I own a 2007 chevy cobalt and the digital odometer went out. When I get into the car the odometer comes on for about 5 seconds but then quickly goes off. What is wrong with my odometer and how can I fix...

that is a dealer only part
the vehicle is picking up a fault in the unit and shutting it off this can
be caused by the installation of a aftermarket radio most vehicles
have an illumination wire that goes to the radio to dim the radios
display along with the backlighting for the gauges, the dimmer is somewhere around the headlight control. if this wire is grounding out
on the radio or anywhere else that could be the result.

Dashboard cluster is not lighting up

I assume you put an aftermarket radio in. Did you buy a wire harness made for your vehicle or just cut wires? A lot of cars these days use a bus system that has other wiring tied into it.

Before adding an aftermarket radio to modern cars, do a little homework into whether you need a special harness or not.

Hi I am trying to install my new amplifier and sub into my 2007 Pontiac Wave 4 Door Sedan but I am having troubles accessing the back of the head unit so I can plug in the necessary wires. How do I...

You need to remove the plastic peice above the glove box use a screwdriver and a rag so you dont scratch it its kinda tuff to pry off but it does come off next remove the small plastic trim next to the steering wheel on the right then you can remove the plastic around the radio itself then their is 4 bolts undo them pops right out fyi: if putting a aftermarket stero you will have to buy the 80 dash kit with chymes and a special antenna adapter hope this helps

06 cobalt stock system hook up

I cant really assist in this matter but I can let you know that I have a system in my 2006 Chevy Cobalt and that I have an aftermarket cd player installed. I had to pay $130 for a special adapter for it to be wired into the system because GM's newest idea of installing the stereo and airbags on the same wire scheme, is kind of a dumb idea.
