Had truck towed to dealer (under warranty), they claim the issue is due to a modification the previous owner did to the battery cables, which causes a drop in voltage. They wanted over $500 to replace to battery cables. And dealers wonder why people only come to them for warranty work. I didn't opt for this option yet, need to look at electrical modification and talke to factory before going down this path.

After bringing truck home from dealer, had the same issue hour later. Popped the hood to investigate and found that dealer had removed chaff guard from wire harness and left splice exposed. I simply touched the harness and saw a spark at the connection and noticed the underhood light had come on. Started truck with no issue. So dealer tore into truck and did not put it back together the way the found it. I will be putting vehilce back to stock but not at this dealer.

SOURCE: Key stuck in ignition, won't come out.

turn the steering wheel gently side to side as you try and turn the key... sounds like the steering lock has engaged. it can also be a broken ignition switch... not the cyclinder ... the swithc itself

SOURCE: wont start

There's only 2 more things that I can think of, check the fuse for the ignition, then the computor itself, you did everything else.It might be the problem and may not.

solenoid or starter is shot...they are known for it. Check fuses first and ensure that they are all good. After that check all wires to starter as well as make sure the battery terminals are tight.

Start with basic testing of electrical circuits ! Does it crank ? meaning when you turn the key to the start position does the engine spin but doesn't start and run or it doesn't do anything when you turn the key to the start position ? Battery good , cables an connections ?

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and i changed the starter, crank position sensor, tried a different ignition but the ignition still would not turn the engine over... Im thinking about wiring up a push start...

unless you have the key fob also, you need a new ignition switch, with key fob and key with a chip in it,the switch turns on the fuel pump when the chip is recognized, take it to someone that knows what they are doing, you CANNOT hotwire it.

Key won't turn, won't shift from Park

My 2003 Saturn l200 2.2 ecotec did this when the battery was dead. Put some juice on the battery, then the car came out of park, and I was able to remove the key. To the car, there's a vast difference between a sluggish battery and a dead battery. It may have enough amps to crank it, but it wont start w/out full output from the battery.

Why won't my 2008 Chrysler Aspen start?

You have 2 issue going on. Its not seeing a valid key,and it is starting with the remote.Your remote entry key did it happen to get wet? Or moisture get in? Lock the vehicle up using the key. enter the vehicle using the key fob. After the vehicle unlocks you have 60 seconds to enter the vehicle insert the key in the ignition start it up.Your remote start up is out of step.

89 Camry won't start!

Check for power on the small wore at the starter with the key in the crank position. If there is power there and your sure the battery is good than the starter is bad. If there is no power work your way back to the neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal. There should be power in and out with the key in the crank position and the pedal fully depressed. Make sure there is not a balled up floor mat behind the clutch pedal. Couldn't tell you how many times I charged customers for a tow and an electrical check and removed there floor mat! If there is no power to the neutral safety switch than the problem may be a little more involved. I need to know if it has a four cylinder or v-6 That should give you a couple things to check in the mean time. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Won't start, could it be fob or engine?

Try not using the fob at all open the door with the key. And start the jeep if it works without issue then its the fob. If its still not working correctly remove the battery from the fob and try again(since if it was damaged could be sending the signal for the panic button) the next step is the key try your spare security key can become worn and cause issues with the antitheft system. After that it only leaves computer problems and those can get spendy
