91-97 Land Cruisers had a factory option for front and rear locking differentials. This is a seperate switch and is usually located to the left of US model Land Cruisers. The center dash button locks your transfer case differential changing your Land Cruiser from all wheel drive to four wheel drive depending if you have ABS or not this button either says ECT or Center Dif Lock. If you do not have the Front/Rear locking differential option then your Land Cruiser has open Front and Rear. Hope this answers your question.

The ECT button has nothing to to with differential locks in either the center or axles. It switches modes in the transmission (ECT = Electronically Controlled Transmission). The "PWR" mode shifts later, letting you get the RPM up higher.

The stock US model 94 Land Cruiser does not have the center dash diff-lock switch - only 91 and 92 models did. Your center diff lock is locked in low range and unlocked in high range. You can buy a factory toyota switch and modify your wiring harness to change this behavior (search for "pin 7 mod" on ih8mud.com)

Check wiring under/behind the switch chances are it is a "dead short" which is keeping your light on. Look for bare wire(s). Peace. God bless

1992 Land cruiser will not shift into drive

Does it have manual locking front hubs? Some people fit these to full time four wheel drive vehicles to reduce driveline effort and increase fuel efficiency. The issue is that the drive from the transfer case will find the path of least resistance which if the front hubs are not locked power will be sent through the front diff and only spin the front drive shafts. To ensure drive power is sent to the rear diff the centre diff needs to be locked. If you do have manual locking front hubs try putting them in the locked position and leave the centre diff button off and try going for a drive.

No power to rear diff lock on 80 series landcruiser

The rear locker will only operate when the centre diff lock is engaged (amber light on dash) and your speed is below approx. 5mph.

If the rear locker indicator does not illuminate, check the 10-amp "Gauge" fuse in the internal fuse panel.

If the light flashes but doesn't become steady, this is probably a siezed / jammed rear locker. On soft ground, repeatedly turn the locker on and off while driving in gentle circles to see if that frees it up. Also, tapping the actuator while an assistant operates the locker can help free it up.

Where does diff lock display come on dash or button

diff lock displays on dash and is opperated by a dial to the left of the steering column. the center diff lock is operated by a button in the center dash and locks your center differential, making your front and rear driveshafts turn at the same speed. the front and rear differentials lock either your front or rear or both differentials making each wheel on the same axle turn at the same speed. all of these features are for increased traction in off road and wet conditions and situations

Remoe dont lock or unlock the doors. hazard lights, indicators and horn dont work.

You might have a blowen fuze. I would check that first. If it is blowen and continues to blow after replaceing it, then you have a short somwere in the wiring.

Hello, my name is David Cooper, I am in Haiti with Gospel to Haiti Mission. I am 5 hr NE of Port Au Prince. The differential lock on the 1998 "troopie" is not operating consistantly. The switch is working,...

Please explain your situation slightly better. Are you saying that the vehicle is not in 4wd?
Also, when you mention the Differential Lock, I do not understand what you are expecting it to do when activated...The differential lock does not apply more "4WD", it just makes all 4 wheels turn at the same RPM...for maximum traction. I'd really like to help you, but I need more information. Please be advised that there may be an issue with you seeing my comments after you read this post. So, if you do not see anything from me, please send me a direct ask. Thanks, and please comment back.
