alot of info to go off of. It could be one of the following simple problems. Low coolant due to small leak on pump or hose. Busted water pump shaft so pump not working. Faulty thermostate. If all I've stated seems like a forgein laguange to you, take it to a shop.

SOURCE: 2001 gmc jimmy engine warm but heater blows cold air

Disconnect the heater hoses from the water pump and the intake manifold. Get a compressor and blow out the hose (put the air hose into the the hose that came off the mainfold. then flush the system and replace the antifreeze.

SOURCE: 2001 GMC Jimmy break lights not working but all

Check the brake light switch should be a orange wire with 12v then a white wire with 12v when the pedal is pressed. If htat cks good then ck the hazard switch by moving it up and down and wiggeling the knob with the brake pedal pressed if they start working then your multifunction switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

How do i fix a radiator leak

depends on what type of radiator (copper, aluminum, or aluminum and plastic) and where at the leak is. in most cases you just clean the area where the leak is with a wire brush or light sandpaper. then with a brazing rod or sauter just weld over the area. if its an aluminum radiator with plastic tanks(a common type) them its most likely leaking at the clamp weld where it changes from plastic to aluminum (they are notorious for leaking there as plastic and aluminum expand differently as they heat and cool and over time will start leaking at that point) . in that case you may be able to temporarily fix it my applying JB weld or some sort of apoxy resin if your tight on money but if you can afford it you should just replace it.

My heater core leaks coolant onto the floorboard of my s-15 jimmy from time to time. it does not do it all the time. do I need to replace it or is there another solution?

You can try a stop leak like Bars Leak, but chances are it needs replacing. Cores are usually aluminum or copper and they're fragile. Once they leak, it's usually terminal.

I actually have a 1996 gmc jimmy is it the same as a 1999 i need to find the thermostat

hi, if you are speaking of a 1999 gmc jimmy, yes, the engines in both vehicles use the same thermostat. the thermostat is located inside the thermostat housing which is connected to the upper radiator hose, and mounted on the top of the engine to the intake manifold. it maybe a plastic housing, or aluminum, it will have two bolts. follow the upper radiator hose away from the radiator and where it ends, is where the housing is.

Can't turn key to start car on 2001 jimmy

Have you tried to turn the stearing wheel side to side while turning the key? Sometimes the wheel gets bumped and it locks with the key in the ignition and the added tension won't alow you to turn key unless you turn the wheel from one side to the other.
