No power on take off

When I take off my truck doesnt want to eccelerate untill it gets to 2,000 rpm. I was wondering if any one else has had this problem and if they did do they have a solution. I have a 2003 2500hd gmc w/ a 6.0 and the 4L60E tranny. I also have a dry gear grinding sound when I hit the accelerator pedle. I have checked and changed all of my fliuds to try and fix the prolblem. I would appreciate any info you have.

What might be causing the problem listed below?

Could be bad ignition module as they have a low rpm section and a high rpm section. Low side may be failing as it heats up. Hard to test for this as parts store testers may not see the problem.

1. Verify the exhaust system is not plugged. Check for less than 1.5 PSI backpressure at 2,000 RPM in park, or open the exhaust before the converter.

2. Check the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) for 4.8-5.0 volts Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and about 1 volts at idle.

3. Check actual engine vacuum at idle at 2000 RPM.

4. Unplug the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, reset fuel trim to 0%, and road test. ALSO CHECK FOR FAULT CODES IN THE OBD SYSTEM.

2002 ls monte carlo "shudders" between 2,000-2400 rpm.....

My monte carlo would hit 2nd gear and bog down and not shift properly until it got to the last gear. I had the catalytic converter replaced and that fixed that problem. (It also created another, but not near as bad)

Oil level perfect, but everytime i eccelerate the oil light come3s on , but goes off when I stop eccelerating

First make sure the oil AND filter are new and the correct type. If so, with the car in park and on a level surface, rev it up and hold it for a little while. If the light comes on odds are your oil pump is getting weak. If it doesnt come on than odds are your oil pick up tube came loose in your oil pan.

It is a relay or a circuit breaker that is overheating.
