I have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring 2.4 with code P0017. Replaced both camshaft sensors, didn't help. Car runs but it runs rough and stalls out. It's getting worse and worse. What could it be?

P0017 is a code for a bad CRANKSHAFT position sensor. Try replacing that. It will probably fix the problem. They go bad quite often.

Give this page a good read. Then you can look for the 0128-says the coolant temperature is too low, likely from a stuck open thermostat, but a few other possibilities like degraded or low coolant. From the home page above, click on "trouble codes" , scroll down to the code (there are hundreds), then click on that code and a page like the one above for 0017 will appear. Awesome site.

The generic code is for the correlation between the crank sensor and the cam sensor on bank one sensor 2 or B.
The computer is not finding the cam in the right position based on the crank sensor and the other cam sensors.
Code 17 for Chevrolet may be different.

Engine Light on and P0017 Code displays on Computer

The cam sensor is out of correlation with the crankshaft. Check both the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor on vehicle. Also check the wiring to each sensor for broken or damage wires. Hope this will help you.
