If I say possible servo booster is faulty, surely you will feel it on the brake pedal ( stiff ),or the engine running would be erratic.the other alternative situation is the pipe( hose ) which is connected with inlet manifold and servo booster and inside has the check valve probably is faulty. Test : off engine, pump brake pedal several times till gets stiff. Keeping your foot on brake pedal start the engine and if your servo works fine then the pedal goes a bit down,if not will not move at all. If the engine is running erraticly then with engine off, remove the pipe connecting manifold and servo block the pipe you remove from servo side, block it and start the engine,If engine run fine, then you must confirm whether is the servo or the check valve hose. For the check valve hose how to check, just put in your mouth the servo side pipe and blow into,if the air goes in the engine means that the check valve is broken and you must renew the pipe with check valve,if on blowing into will not allow air to get through, means is ok and the servo is the fault. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2002 gmc 2500hd 4wd abs problems

the problem is most likely a wheel speed sensor at one of the front wheels. retrieving a code in the abs system could pinpoint which wheel it is. i believe the wheel speed sensor is part of the bolt on front wheel bearing assy. if you plan on doing this yourself and are mechanically inclined. you will need an a/c volt meter to check sensors. let me know if i can assist further.

SOURCE: brake light switch

In the 04 models there has been a recall on a part in the brake lights. You can look it up and it gives you a number to call GMC. If you truck is one of the affected models they will replace it for you.

SOURCE: Front end shakes when brakes are applied..

Your rotors are warped. When you had your brakes replaced - did they just replace the pads? Did they "turn" the rotors - or replace them? It isn't very expensive to have them turned - which means they will resurface them - removing any high spots. One thing to note - by law, the rotors have to be a specific minimum thickness - if by turning them, they would become too thin - they won't (shouldn't) do it. They will put calipers on them to determine the current, and end result of the thickness and let you know before then actually do the work.

Also - it wouldn't hurt to double check that all of the lug nuts are tightened to 100 ft/lbs on all 4 wheels.

Hope this helps and good luck!

SOURCE: My 2003 GMC Sierra Idles Rough And Cut Off

Before replacing the O2 sensors, I would check the fuel pressure. You may also try to have someone pull a trouble code from the powertrain control module to verify why the engine light is on. Do not replace any parts until this is done, otherwise your going to be guessing at the root cause, and it will get expensive with part replacement.

99 Lexus ES300 - Car hesitates & sputters when starting off usually until 2nd gear kicks in & sometimes when going uphill. However, no CEL. Ideas?

The flexible accordion hose that connects the MAF to the throttle body might have a small crack in it. They are sometimes hard to see, especially if in the accordion folds or underneath. Starting off or going uphill will result in enough torque to lift one side of the engine enough to open the crack and cause hesitation.

id check your caliper to see if the piston is compressing all the way if not check your fluid it should be clean not brown or if you have been through large amounts of water if it has gotten into the brake system and check your bleeder valve to check if it has rotted or come lose or if you have a break in the lines or air, most likely your caliper is failing to compress.

Plugs and wires are a good start, if they haven't been replaced for a while. I would change the fuel filter and check the air filter. The fuel filter is often overlooked. The ones I change, you wouldn't believe the dirt that's in them.
