Blower motor doesnt work


Use tester on power and ground leading to blower first. See if your getting power. Check fuse if bad and u replace and shorts out when you power up replace motor. Check controls also

Heater doesnt work


The first thing to check would be the most common which is the blower resistor. the resistor is located on heater box next to blower. if you locate the blower then wire to blower and then follow wires back and they will lead to resistor.
A good test to do to see if it is the resistor would be with a test light you will test for power at blower, make sure to turn key on and heat on with blower switch on, then with the test light check for power at the blower.
if it is a bad blower resistor then you will have power at one wire on the connector that connects to blower motor, that means there is no ground going to blower, that ground is controlled by resistor to control the speed settings.its is the switch itself or resistor but i would say resistor, if you had a power probe you could test switch but i will not confuse you with that.
Now if there is no power to one of the blower wires then a fuse is what you will need to replace,
and the last test to be sure it is the resistor would be to use a piece of wire , make sure you know which wire had power to it, as you will be sticking the other wire, so take your wire and stick into connector at blower and take the other end and touch a good ground, you may see a little spark, thats okay. the blower should run.

How to replace heat blower


NOTE: The blower motor is located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed from the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the passenger side cowl trim panel. See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Trim Panel\Service and Repair\Cowl Trim
  3. Pull back the carpet to access the front upper screw that secures the air inlet housing.
  4. Remove the recirculation door actuator.
  5. Remove the recirculation door actuator wire lead from the routing clip located on the lower air inlet housing and position the wire lead aside.
  6. Disconnect the blower motor wire lead connector from the blower motor resistor or power module, depending on application.

  1. Remove the one screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing.
  2. Remove the four screws (from the bottom) that secure the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing and remove the lower HVAC housing.

  1. Push the rubber blower motor wire lead grommet through the opening in the lower air inlet housing.
  2. Feed the blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet housing and remove the lower air inlet housing from the vehicle.
  3. Position the recirculation-air door as necessary to access and remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the lower half of the HVAC housing.
  4. Gently flex the recirculation air door far down enough to remove the blower motor and wheel from the HVAC housing.

Where is the blower motor... i know that is the problem, but where and how do I change it. i already have the part


Blower Motor Removal & Installation Front To Remove:
NOTE: The blower motor is positioned on the passenger side of the vehicle beneath the instrument panel, and can be removed from the vehicle without removing the HVAC housing.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Passenger side cowl trim panel
    • Carpet to access the front upper screw that secures the air inlet housing
    • Recirculation door actuator
    • Recirculation door actuator wire lead from the routing clip located on the lower air inlet housing and position the wire lead aside
    • Blower motor wire lead connector from the blower motor resistor or power module, depending on application. Lower Air Inlet Housing chr_pacific_lwr_inlt_hsng.gif

    • One screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing

  3. Feed the rubber blower motor wire lead grommet through the opening in the lower air inlet housing.
  4. Push the blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet housing and remove the lower air inlet housing from the vehicle.
  5. Place the recirculation-air door as needed to access and remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the lower half of the HVAC housing.
  6. Lightly bend the recirculation air door far enough down to remove the blower motor and wheel from the HVAC housing. Blower Motor Mounting Tabs blwr_mnting_tabs.gif

  7. Remove the blower motor and wheel from the HVAC housing. Make a note of the location of the blower motor mounting tabs.
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Blower motor and wheel to the lower half of the HVAC housing and line up the blower motor mounting tabs to the correct location on the HVAC housing
    • Blower motor and wheel into the HVAC housing by lightly bending the recirculation-air door far enough down
    • Three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing by positioning the recirculation-air door as needed
      1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
    • Blower motor wire lead through the opening in the lower air inlet housing and seat the rubber grommet into the lower air inlet housing
    • Recirculation-air door pivot into the lower air inlet housing
    • Four screws (from the bottom) that secure the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing and the lower HVAC housing
      1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
    • One screw (from the top) that secures the lower air inlet housing to the upper air inlet housing
      1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
    • Blower motor wire lead connector to the blower motor resistor or power module, depending on application
    • Recirculation door actuator wire lead into the routing clip located on the lower air inlet housing
    • Recirculation door actuator
    • Carpet
    • Passenger side cowl trim panel
    • Negative battery cable
  2. Perform the heater-A/C control calibration procedure.
Rear To Remove:
NOTE: The rear blower motor and blower wheels are repaired only as a balanced unit. The entire blower motor and wheel assembly must be replaced if either component is fault or damaged.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
  2. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Front center floor console cover
    • Negative battery cable Rear Blower Motor Housing chr_pacific_rear_blwr_hsng.gif

    • Body wire harness connectors from the rear blower motor power module and the rear mode door actuator
    • Body wire harness bracket from the console support bracket
    • Eight screws and the two console support brackets from the floor console base and duct assembly
    • Four screws that secure the rear blower motor housing to the floor console base and duct assembly
    • Rear blower motor housing and place it on a bench
    • Rear blower motor wire harness connector from the power module
    • Eleven retaining clips and three screws that secure the housing together
    • Two halves of the housing
    • Blower motor wire harness and grommet from the housing and remove the blower motor
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Rear blower motor into the housing and install the blower motor wire harness and grommet
    • Two halves of the rear blower motor housing and install the eleven retaining clips and three screws
      1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
    • Rear blower motor wire harness connector to the rear blower motor power module
    • Rear blower motor housing into the floor console
    • Four screws that secure the rear blower motor housing to the floor console base
      1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
      2. Two console support brackets onto the floor console base
      3. Eight screws that secure the support brackets to the floor console base
        1. Torque to: 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm)
      4. Body wire harness bracket onto the console rear support bracket
      5. Body wire harness connectors to the rear blower motor power module and the rear mode door actuator
      6. Negative battery cable
      7. Front center floor console
  2. Calibrate the A/C-heater control.

2000 dodge caravan, blower motor not running


first check fuses then go over to passenger side under the dash find the two twisted wires that lead to the blower motor, unplug them, and test the harness end for power, if power is present replace blower motor.

Heater Blower won't work


Find the blower motor on the passenger side just above where the passengers feet would be. You may need to remove a panel (fairly easy). You will see a round metal housing about 4" in diameter. Turn on the ignition key and blower motor. Then tap the housing with a small hammer or a screwdriver. If the blower comes on.....replace the motor. If not, find the wires leading to that motor, undo the connector and check for power and ground in them.(You did check fuses first...right?)

Blower motor on 96 Isuzu Rodeo does not blow on any speeds, fuse is good. I read if blower motor on works on high only it is resister, and if works on all speeds but high is relay.. so does blower motor...


if fuses are good, check for power at blower motor, when truck is running and a/c on. the resistor and the switch provide ground, so the blue/white wire should have power, and the blue/black wire should have NO power, if it does have power, then most likely the resistor is bad. if it has no power and the motor doesnt run, the motor is bad.

Blower motor does not run on heat or A/C. Does not make a difference if its auto or hi or low.


tap on it with a hammer when it should be working, if it starts working.... the blower is bad, common problem and a not so fun job. I would recommend a repair shop .

2002 Buick Century Heater Doesn't Turn On


replace the blower motor speed control resistor 1st then the blower motor if the resistor doesn't fix the problem. Below are instructions to replace the resistor.

The blower motor resistor is located on the back of the blower motor housing under the dash on the passenger side. It can be difficult to get at, but it is doable. Be ready with the ibuprofen the next day for your sore back. Remove the cover panel from beneath the dash on the passenger side. Unplug the power 'ribbon' wires leading to the resitor. Unplug the wires that lead from the resitor to the blower motor housing. There are usually two, one black and one purple that share the same plug. Remove the short hose that leads from the blower motor housing to the ventilation system ducts. Remove the blower motor by removing the three hex screws that hold it in place. Remove the resistor by removing the three hex screws that hold it in place. The resistor is right against the firewall so two of the screws are very difficult to reach. A slender flexible socket extension will make the job easier. Attach the new resistor in place using the same hex screws. Only 1 or 2 of the original three are needed (the part is very light) if you do not feel like fighting with the ones next to the firewall. Reatach the blower motor and reconnect the hose. Plug the power cable wires back into the resitor and the wire from the resistor back into the blower motor.
