pull a spark plug wire off and connect it to an old plug, lay the threads of the plug on the engine block without touching the plug with your hand and turn the motor over , the plug should spark

I have a 1979 winnebago and I replaced the fuel pump and filters and it won't start bit it tirns over

It is possible this coach has sat for a while. You may have very old and bad gas. You also may have sludge/dirt that has broken loose in the fuel tank. This is also old school. You are looking at either a 454 or a 460 ford. Both will have a 4 barrel carb. You need to verify that the venturis are working. When you push the accelerator it should squirt a shot of gas down the throat of the carb. Check your distributor and wires. Look for damage from critters chewing wires too.

Starts but wont run after ignition switch is returned to the run position from the start position.

The problem is that when you have the switch in the START position, you are getting power to the ignition system, but not when in the RUN position. Most likely causes are a bad ignition switch, a faulty aftermarket alarm system [if it has one] or a bad ballest resistor wire going to the ignition coil's + terminal. You need to break out your test light and start checking to see where the fault lies.

1985 5.7L Chevy G30 engine problem

do you shut the propane off before turning on the gas ? try turning the propane off and start the MH on gas .. The mixture of the two is whats causing the problem .. Also you need to run it on gas frequently to keep the carb wet so it wont dry up .. it might be already dried up if you run it on propane alot . might be needin a kit in it.. thanks and holler if you need more Jerry

mcdevito75 here, Something wrong with--in the carb. Have it rebuilt or replaced. ----- Not unless the gas is leaking from outside the carb. in which case tighten the screws holding the 2 halves of the carb. together.

Bronco Wont Start (help please)

Check for timing gear problems. They have plastic teeth on the cam shaft gear which will shatter causing it to jump time.

I have a 1981 Toyota 4WD with a 22r engine. Truck has been sitting up for about 8mos. I purchased it and got it home. The only way I can start if is by pouring gas in carb. I have replaced all vac lines...

check the fuel pump, maybe it is not working. if you put a new accelerator pump, I wonder if it's same as the fuel pump. if so, maybe you need to rebuild your carb, clean the small fuel line in the carb, something block there.
