2010 chevy impala service stabilitrakwarning keeps coming on

You should have it check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes .
SERVICE STABILITRAK is part of the ABS control module . EBCM - electronic brake control module . Could be a sensor problem , EBCM , yaw sensor an a couple other ones .
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES)
The vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) adds an additional level of vehicle control to the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Yaw rate is the rate of rotation about the vehicle's vertical axis. The lateral accelerometer measures the sideways acceleration of the vehicle. The VSES is activated when the EBCM determines that the desired yaw rate and lateral forces do not match the actual attitude of the vehicle.
The desired attitude of the vehicle are calculated from the following inputs:
?€¢
The position of the steering wheel

?€¢
The speed of the vehicle

?€¢
The lateral, or sideways acceleration of the vehicle

?€¢
Yaw rate of the vehicle

?€¢
Master cylinder brake pressure

The difference between the desired yaw rate and the actual yaw rate is the yaw rate error, which is a measurement of oversteer or understeer. If the yaw rate error becomes too large, the EBCM attempts to correct the vehicle's yaw motion by applying differential braking to the appropriate wheel. The amount of differential braking applied to the left or right front wheel is based on both the yaw rate error and side slip rate error.
The VSES activations generally occur during aggressive driving, in turns, or on poor road conditions, without much use of the accelerator pedal. When braking during VSES activation, the pedal pulsations feel different than the ABS pedal pulsations. The brake pedal pulsates at a higher frequency during VSES activation.

WHAT IS YAW RATE SENSOR? WHERE IS

The yaw rate sensor measures the relative vehicle motion about the vertical axis through its center of gravity. It is usually located inside the Sensor Cluster located in the middle of the vehicle somewhere , under the console .
The sensor cluster (also called the accelerometer) consists of the yaw rate sensor, roll rate sensor (if equipped with roll stability control), lateral accelerometer and longitudinal accelerometer. The lateral accelerometer measures the acceleration which corresponds to the force involved when the vehicle slides sideways. This acceleration has 2 forms. The first is the centrifugal acceleration which is generated when the vehicle travels around in a circle. The second is the acceleration due to gravity. On level ground there is no contribution from this acceleration. However, if the vehicle is parked sideways on a bank or incline, the sensor measures some lateral acceleration due to gravity even though the vehicle is not moving.

Location of 2002 Toyota Highlander Yawrate Sensor?

I'm sure your mechanic read code for yaw rate malfunction.
yaw rate is a sensor on the base of the column and read the steering angle.any time you do alignment or replace steering parts the angle change and the sensor read +or- off zero. driving for some times computer will call for sensor problem.
First make sure the car drive straight,no suspension or steering problem, tire size and pressure is the same and find mechanic with advance scanner to program the sensor to new ZERO.
Don't replace the sensor before give hem the second chance. the new sensor need programming to.
Good Luck

What is a yaw rate sensor & how does it affect braking?

This sensor detects a deviation of the vehicle from the centerline of the vehicle such as in a skid, the computer which is part of the skid control and abs system then adjusts the brake and throttle to pull the car out of the skid, the driver is not in control at that time until the vehicle skid is recovered, it is also a deceleration sensor. The yaw rate sensor does nothing under normal conditions

VSC ans engine light are on... How can I repaired?

i had the same problem. Did some research on line and lots of suggestions to replace the YAW Rate Sensor. Everyone said it would cost $500 to $800 to repear. I purchased a used sensor from a junk yard on ebay for under $100. It said it was taken from a Tundra. I had it installed last night and took my truck for a 9 mile high way drive and the drive was smooth. I no longer had that problem of an out of control truck once i drove it over 50mph. Try replacing the YAW sensor. And so you know, it is an electrical part, but dont let the crocked dealer or mechanic trick you, the sensor is located under the center console in the truck. All they have to do is unscrew the console and literally pop out the old sensor and pop in the new. It's a 10min job. Labor cost me $45. If your a male or a handy woman (i'm a non handy woman) you probubly can do the repair yourself.
