SOURCE: Mercedes Benz C180 Fault Message Brake Assist.Visit Workshop BAS

Hi there

BAS is the Brake Assist System and if there is a malfunction it would only come into play in an Emergency stop while applying full pressure. BAS applies full braking force because people tend to lighten up their pressure on the pedal in these situations. I would suggest that the best thing to do is go to a Workshop or Service Center and have it checked out. Please remember to put a good rating on my profile.

Kind regards
Dustin Ellse

It is usually a ABS wheel speed sensor has gone faulty, but you would have to have electronic diagnostic done to read off a fault code (DTC) and maybe a live data scan . Hope this helps

Mercedes ml320 upper rear lights not working

Is the warning message brake/tail light. Backup lamps in use. Most common fault is just the globe. The contacts on the bulb holder can also burn out. A new bulb holder from the dealer is sold as a repair kit. You need to fit new a new wire into the plug and a wire to a good earth. Best to see your mechanic for that job. Pin designation is tricky.

You'll need to bring it to Mercedes to have the TPMS checked out. There are several possibilities. A bad sensor, a bad antenna/receiver/module.

I have a 1991 mercedes and the srs light came on and i dont know what that means

supplemental restraint system--your air bag is inoperative. The system will have to be scanned to determine the fault so that repairs can be made. This is usually a dealer repair, as a special scanner is needed.

LT signal fault

It is very difficult to diagnose your problem without being in front of your vehicle. But I will let you in on a tip-This vehicle substitutes bulbs for inoperable bulbs i.e. if your brake light goes out the bulb monitoring system will substitute your tail lights in place of the inoperable brake light. It can be frustrating you are not very familiar with your vehicle because when the brake switch is depressed you will see lights on and still get the message on the heads up display. also it is very important that the bulb wattage is exact. any difference in resistance will trigger a inop bulb problem. Also I believe that the turn signal is a dual filament bulb-one for turn signal and the other for your running lights. hopefully I have been helpful
