check oil level low or no oil causes no start so does --your oil sender may have failed --oil sender also has a screen filter which causes low or no pressure =oil pump problem ==the truck wont start or may start and shut off immediately

Sounds like either the fuel filter is plugged or the fuel pump has malfunctioned.

Possible pick up coil

Could be a lot of things I would start here. If the engine is shaking at idle or not it maybe the spark plug wires. easy way to check start the truck take a spray bottle and spray a mist on the wires to see if the truck runs worst make sure you stand back while doing this so you don't get shocked.

Sounds like a bad connection in the wiring, like the battery cables.
Or a ground connection problem.
Have you checked the battery cables and the connections ?

I would check the power relay for the EEC IV or ignition system relay.

T here are no adjustments they are computer controlled, you can not adjust them, what you need to do is check the idle air control valve it sounds like its bad and not working this is common, when start the truck it should idle up and slowly drop to idle replace that valve.heres a picture of it.its located on intake on throtlebody. hope this helps.also idle spec is 650rpm at idle.

You need an alternator....well unless your belt came off or got very loose. The truck continued to drive because the battery had enough juice left to run the ignition system, but after you shut it off there was no where near enough to turn the engine over or possibly even run the starter. The battery will have to be charged and a new alternator installed.

thawed it out the next morning-reset codes to standard-viola-all is well. seems ice found its way into switch@transfer case and ran the chips riot-sending tranny into limp mode. cold weather,rrrrrrrrrrrr. june can't come soon enough.
