Question about Vauxhall Cars & Trucks
I own a vauxhall vectra 2003 diesel, stereo (cdr 2005) this morning i disconected the battery,, when i conected it again my car stereo doesnt work, nothing is coming up on my display to say if its in safemode/locked or not,,, ive tried holding in the (AS) button till i hear a beep, prompting me to enter the code, also tried holding AS then turning radio on while holding AS,, also tried turning ignition on radio off,, ignition on holding AS then turning radio on,,,, but still no beep,, i need help!!!!! i have also checked the fuses
Sorry to tell you this needs to have the code reset once you remove the battery the stereo needs to be reset only a garage can do that there is no doubt about it. Hope this helps Best wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

actually your radio has an antitheft system to prevent thefts to use it, but most of the times the previous owner will know the code or he might wrote it down at the owners manual,
or you can try to contact the dealer some times they will be nice and just give you the code, but you nned to be ready with the vin number of the car, and the serial number on the radio in order to get the code from the dealer, but if you have a friend or relative with auto repair, they wiil call the dealer, in most cases they have very good erlation with auto dealer.

SOURCE: Stereo locked in SAFE mode
turn the switch on all the way without starting the car.
leave it like that for a couple of hours and the it will unlock itself.
that's the " only " way. unless you drive somewhere for a couple of hours

I assume you have this unlocked by now, but here's an answer for someone else for the future :-)
if you have the original radio that come with the car, look in the wheel well in the trunk, where the spare tire goes. (yep, you'll need to stand on your head). there is a sticker that will have the 4-digit code on it.
enter that into the radio.
I can't remember off the top of my head which one it is, but either the >> Scan or the am/fm button will be the "enter key"

The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode.
Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.
