Fiat Uno Clutch Problem

I'm having a problem with my clutch. It started engaging lower and lower, until it wouldn't release anymore. I can get the car into gear if the engine is off, but the moment the engine is on and i push the clutch all the way in, no luck. I have replaced the cluth plate, presure plate and release bearing, but it is still doing the same thing. I looked at the master and slave cylinder, but they are not leaking and the slave cylinder is pushing out all the way. I look at the clutch fork and it has not jumped a tooth or anything, but it is rubbing against the gearbox frame about 1cm into it. By this I mean there is an indentation of the forx on the gearbox frame. I'm not sure what to look at any more. I have taken the gearbox out 3 times now in case things were not lined up, but they are. Any help would really be appreciated.

SOURCE: My clutch pedal wont spring back once i've

A clutch pedal not springing back is almost always an indication that there is air in the system. Bleeding out a clutch is a tedious endeavor to say the least.
I suggest you open up the bleeder screw & gravity bleed the clutch.(This will take a long time as well!)

Fiat Uno Mia 1999 Model. Replaced Clutch Kit but gear only engages when the clutch pedal is almost completely released, right at the top?! What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

It is possible that the throw out fingers have gone behind the throw out bearing housing causing the lever to be in the wrong position. If you can get an inspection plate off under the fly wheel you may see if this is the case . If not you may have to pull the box again

How do i bleed clutch on fiat dublo

Clutch systems bleed just like brakes, if you have an external leak at the clutch master cylinder, then bleeding will be difficult, it should be replaced. I use a two person bleeding system, I fill the master, crack the bleeder screw open and have my 2nd push the clutch down and hold it, then I close the bleeder and tell my 2nd to release the pedal, repeat until no air is present.

So the problem has been occuring for a year and you are just now trying to fix it? Sorry, I just simply do not understand why people do this...keep driving it until it won't drive anymore even though you KNOW it has a problem....Maybe you can explain this to me???

If you can hear the starter clicking when you try to start it, then you have a bad starter. If it makes no noise at all. then you most likely have a bad clutch switch.

Start by checking the switch above the clutch pedal ... I have seen where they come loose, brake or move and when you push in the clutch it doesn't engage the safety switch all the way.

My clutch works sometimes and sometimes it don't. I was driving came to a stop, tried to go it sounded like the clutch popped out of gear or something broke. My car wouldn't go so I got towed. but...

A clutch that's failing doesn't behaves like that - it slowly starts slipping until it fails completely and definitely. If it would break suddenly (like when the pressure plate would snap) the noise and the vibrations it would generate would be unbearable.
No, in your case something is failing inside the transmission/gearbox - most likely in the command forks and their locking pins. The gearbox will have to taken off the car and dismantled to investigate and fix that, and it will be expensive.

1998 Saturn SC1 manuel stick is hard to shift into 1st & 2nd gear

Try to double clutch the clutch pedal. How to double clutch; push the clutch in moving the stick to neutral, then release the clutch and then push it back in and shift into first or second gear. If it works then it is not the shift linkage and could be a clutch adjustment. First how far do you have to release the clutch pedal until the clutch plate starts to engage? If only an inch or so the clutch pedal needs to be adjusted, which is an easy fix (this is more common). The other possible problems could be the clutch plate, throwout bearing of syncros could be bad. If it is one of the previous problems double clutching should buy you some time.

Fiat Palio-1.2 ELX (Petrol) clutch ''not-working''

Even I had this problem. After sometime engaging gear was difficult. There are two reasons. First, it could be leakage of servo fuel/brake fluid from the master cylinder on the clutch side or it could be due to the wear of the pressure plate.

Why is it so hard to get my car in gear could it bee the clutch??

Whenever your clutch is worn down it will become harder and harder to engage the gear, until it will finally not go in at all, or just get stuck in one. It is time for a clutch replacement. If you have to have a shop do it, prices can vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle. I had a quote on a prior vehicle for 700. Good luck :)
