Have someone check the actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge immediately. You may have an internal problem. This will also verify if you just need a new pressure sending unit.
good luck! hope this helps you.

SOURCE: check engine light keeps going on in 98 sunfire

It sounds like you may have a bad oil pressure sending unit gone bad and leaking oil, you should have that replaced soon as possible and you can do it your self with common tools. Go to Auto Zone and they should have the oil pressure sensor and they can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the oil sensor with the new one. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have. As your at Auto Zone have then scan your car for any DTC codes just to make sure that is not anything else wrong that we may have over sean.

SOURCE: i did a oil change and spark plugs on my 2002

that happens sometimes dont worry. As long as the light isnt blinking it is fine. Just drive it for a few days. If it doesnt clear itself, take it to a shop and have then clear it for free or cheap. You could also disconnect your battery for 15 minutes or so and it will reset the computer and whipe the check engine light off. Sometimes if you have a bad plug or all cyclinders arent firing it causes the check engine light to come on. now that everything is replaced just do what I said above.

How can I tell if fuel has had oil added to it

Gasoline is a very clean fuel and when it evaporates it does not leave any residue. Gas which has had oil added will leave behind an oily residue. Put a small amount of fuel in a glass jar and set out in a well ventilated area away from any potential sources of ignition. Let the fuel evaporate and then wipe the bottom of the jar with your finger. Rub your thumb against your finger and see if it feels oily.

Burns engine oil

Depending on how bad it's burning oil, it can be results of the rings and valve seals going bad. Have you had any recent top end motor work. When rings are incorrectly installed (upside down, etc.) or the gaps are too wide or the cylinders weren't honed to match the material and/or finish of the rings, oil will get through. The same goes for the valve stem seals. If they are old and hard, they will allow oil to get by and into the combustion area. You can try to use an additive like CD-2 Engine Oil Stop Leak/ Heavy Duty Sealer

If it is the 3.0 you may have heard the lifters. but sometime when you leave an oil pan off for very long you will lose your prime from your oil pump and it will take an few sec to get primed. how long did you let it run for. did the the knocking go away

How do i change the oil in my 2001 hyundai tiburon Se

Well your car will use a 5W30 oil. Then to change it you need to -
  1. First thing is to make sure the dipstick that checks the oil level pulls up.
  2. Make sure to have a 5 quarts drain pan to safety store used oil for disposal.
  3. Set the drain pan under the oil plug and then scoot it out about 6 inches so when the oil comes flying out the drain pan catches it.
  4. When all the oil has completely drained then make sure the gasket is on the oil plug.
  5. Now wipe the tip of the oil plug off (some oil plugs pick up metal shavings and you don't want to put that back into the engine.
  6. Put the plug back into the oil pan and snug it up.
  • Now for the oil filter
  1. Move the drain pan back to the oil filter. (will be on the backside of the pan)
  2. With a strap wrench loosen the oil filter just a few turn. Just enough for the oil to begin to drain from it.
  3. Now remove the oil filter completely.
  4. Check on the oil filter housing to make sure the gasket from the oil filter did not stick.
  5. Now take the new oil filter and inspect it for dent or holes and also make sure the new gasket is on it and not torn or severely cracked.
  6. Take a few drops of oil and rub it onto the new filters gasket to help that gasket seal.
  7. Now screw the new filter on the oil filter housing.
  8. Clean off and old excess oil in the area with a shop rag.
  9. Now add the required amount or oil (4.5 quarts)
  10. Start the car and right away get out and look underneath the car for leaks.
  11. If no leaks turn the car off and check the oil level to insure a proper fill.
  12. Job finished
Regards, Tony

Scratch on ultra bright aluminum wheel- I have removed some deep scratches on my wheels and sprayed clear coat on them but can't get the same brightness on the wheel as the original untouched areas..

The factory wheels have a clear anodized finish on them, unfortunately you will never get them to look perfect. Clear coat is a good idea to help protect the scratch from spreading.
