Question about 1988 Toyota Camry
Trouble with car in that it surges at high speeds and cuts off at will, think it has something to do with the map sensor, but don't know where it is?

I just fixed this problem on my 99 Camry. The fan only worked on high. It was the resistor. Bought it for $29.99. It is under the dash on the passenger side. Just above where the passengers left foot would be. You DO NOT need to take out the glove box. The resistor is located just above where the carpet ends. It is held in place by a plug with about 6 wires. It has two phillips head screws. Get a short elbowed phillips head and switch it out.
