Hi...
My wife ran out of gas. I added about 4 gallons and the car won't start. I'm thinking maybe gunk from the bottom of the gas tank clogged with fuel lines. I also don't hear the fuel pump turn on. Could the lack of gas ruin the fuel pump? How to I change it or clean out the lines? Please reply to my email banning@suddenlink.net. Thank you.
I read somewhere that the fuel pump is lubricated by the Gasoline. It warned to never run out of gas with these Cadillacs. It may need a new fuel filter now.
The junk may have collected in your fuel filter?
Someone posted they had there fuel pump quit after running out of gas 3 weeks later. Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes first to see if it is actually the Anti-theft system.
