SOURCE: 2001 olds ABS and traction control sensor issue

An ABS sensor DOES affect the traction control system. Traction control uses these sensors to determine if a wheel is losing traction. A bad sensor will cause both the ABS and TRACTION lights to come on.
The CHECK ENGINE light however is going to be a seperate problem.

SOURCE: Engine light and ABS traction control light remain

The ABS sensor is a speed sensor also for Traction Control. This is why both lights are on , One of your front ABS sensors are bad or disconnected, or has a pinched wire.

YOU CAR HAVE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL.
IF YOU DRIVE ON ICE AND SNOW TRACTION CONTROL WILL APPLY BRAKES TO ONE WHEEL AND GIVE MORE POWER TO THE OTHER SO YOU WILL TAKE OF STRAIGHT. WITHOUT TRAC. CONTROL THE WHEEL WITH LES TRACTION WILL SPIN AND THE OTHER WILL STAY. MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS ABS SENSOR IS BAD.LET TECHNICIAN SCAN YOUR ABS SYSTEM TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. REPLACE THE SENSOR AND YOU ARE READY TO DRIVE AGAIN ON SNOW AND ICE.
GOOD LUCK

Abs, esp, brake and traction light on

Oh I have exactly the same problem right now!! Machanics are saying the back LH speed sensor is faulty however when they checked the computer there were no error codes. The braking issue has stopped but warning lights have been on constantly for three weeks now :( Its due to go back to the machanic in a few days so they can have another look.... What ended up being the problem with yours?

Abs and traction light are on

you can try to reset the computer with a diagnostic machine but, it seems like the brakes were installed without resetting the abs sensors. if this sensor is not re connected, this will cause your light to come on.

Service traction system message

Probably a bad ABS sensor is shutting down the traction control system.First you have to take it in to a reliable tech.He would scan the computer & check your ABS sensors.Im fairly certain one of thoe sensors are acting up.
