I think your engine has a vacuum leak, check all of your hoses, and carb fittings.
If your engine cannot get enough vacuum it will not be able to draw enough fuel to run.

Every Engine relies on Vacuum to draw fuel or fuel air mixture in.
    Fuel injected or otherwise.
If your vehicle has a vacuum leak then it will act like yours is acting.
Just a shot in the dark over the blind internet ;-)

1993 pontiac grand prix 3.1 le stalls at normal driving speed and is hard to restart. After it restarts I can hold the gas down and put it gear and take off.It runs great with accellerator opened up wide.

that is flooding, (lots of causes that)
that throttle hold down is in the operators guide, called WOT unflood mode. it cut fuel 100% it starts via, excess fuel, in engine.
clears then starts and runs.
ever do a full tuneup?
Flooding. (engine good)
bad spark. Cold starts need perfect spark , unlike a hot engine.
so tune up time, for most cars 60,000 miles, some need sparks
every 39k (RTM read the manual in glove box,) it tells you.
as does the FSM state this, and how.
If flooding is not tune up related, then it is>
1: leaking injectors.
2: too high fuel pressure.
3: bad inputs to the PCM (like ECT reads too low temp) scan IT.
4: ISC stuck closed ,staring, the engine of air as start.
to test this #4 theory, (told in newer car operators guides) is to
start car with 10% throttle , start now? that may prove ISC stuck closed.

ever examine spark plugs, they speak volumn's.
these are new plugs, and are soaking in raw fuel.
on old plugs. its hopeless. (even weaker spark)
we use tools to find cause, got tools?

I have a 2000 Lincoln ls v8 3.9 it will only start when I hold the throttle wide open

A wide open throttle cuts off power to the fuel pump.
Is it possible one of the injectors is flooding the engine ?

How to idol down a 4.3 v 6 throttle body motor in a 1993 chevy astro mini van.

Sometimes a car idles high because the mass airflow sensor doesnt work and then the throttle sensor assumes a default position of wide open. Maf, Map, and tps are connected.

1993 chevrolet silverado 1500 will not start has new filter and pump can spray fuel in to it will start then dies when it runs out of the fuel sprayed it it

It sounds like your injectors are not firing which could be a crank signal problem or wiring, distributor pickup coil problem or a computer problem. One wire to your injector should be pink this is the power wire it should have around 11.5-12 volts with the key on. The other wire is ground that the computer uses to fire the injector which you can check with a good test light hooked to voltage. and work back from that point if you have neither at the injector.

Hesitates at wide open throttle

Could be as simple as new wires. Try turning on the truck at night and check to see if your wires are not arching to the engine block/manifold. Trust me if the wires are bad you'll see it at night. If they are, they need to be replaced along with the spark plugs as this will foul the plugs because of impropper detonation.

Can a faulty Throttle position sensor,[on a 93 chevy s-10 blazer,4.3 liter vortec engine] cause the engine not to start at all

yes it can cause.A worn sensor may cause a skip or drop in the reading when the throttle opens, If the TPSis open, the computer will think the throttle is closed all the time as its faulty and engine will not get start up. thanks.
