SOURCE: Smell coolant when heater is turn on...

the heater core inside the dash is leaking, it may get worse and coolant will start to drip on the floor out of the heating outlet

SOURCE: antifreeze smell and smoke coming out of vents

You have a coolant leak most likely in the heater core. Try disconnecting your heater hoses and coupling them together, then running the engine to see if the leak goes away. If it does, I would have the heater core replaced.

SOURCE: wet under driver's side floor mat

Is there a sweet smell inside the car?Heater core leak I beleive would be on passenger side floor.Antifreeze will be sweet to the nose. Are you getting any white smoke out the tailpipe? would likely be head gasket leak.Put a piece of cardboard under the car near the radiator and under the motor to see where its leaking from .One thing Ive learned over the years is that its going somewhere. On the ground? Or out the tailpipe.
As for the floor board leak the 98 s were prone to have the defrost area in front of windshield collect water from being plugged up .Mine was passenger floorboard.Daughter resealed small oval vent (that defrosts /heats hood?) LOL .Its on pass. side under hood on cowl .I think this will take care of my problem but you may need to investigate under the dash/defrost area and drill and then install a drain line to bottom of defroster.Exit drain line to O/Side of car...lol .Also was it raining ? was car outside in rain .if so it could be this issue.Sorry so long ,hope you can make heads or tails of this.

SOURCE: smelling antifreeze inside cab of 2000 gmc jimmy

Chanses are that little hole will turn into a big hole its only a matter of time, its not that hard, don't be inteminated by it, even if you have never done one before. Chk. the carpet on the pasengers side floor see if its wet, anyhow if you can smell antifreeze thats what it is heater core.

Check engine licht comes on after driving for a few days wat do i look for?

check your thermostat and make sure you have antifreeze 50/50. My 2000 Chevy impala was blowing cold air, but the previous owner had put some radiator stop leak in the radiator that clogged the whole system. I used a garden hose and flushed the heater core and the water pump.

My 2000 Chevy Blazer will not produce enough heat. The radiator has been flushed with new antifreeze added. The thermostat reaches 180 degrees.

Did you do the flush and fill yourself? did you put pure antifreeze in with distilled water at a 50/50 ratio? If your antifreeze mixture is pure or almost pure antifreeze, then it will not transfer your heat and will not heat the cab well at all.

I have a 1995 chevy blazer. Just changed the thermostat last winter. The blowers work good, but its like "luke warm" air coming out. What could it be, before I change the heater core?

when you replaced the thermostat, did you use a 192*?

did you make sure all the air is out of the system?

Make sure the system is full of antifreeze

If not, replace the thermostat with a 192 or 195*

if that doesn't work, (it should), look at the temp contol valve for the heater.

(Have you used radiator leak stop? if so, you might need to flush the system

COLD AIR COMES OUT AFTER ADDING STOP LEAK

the problem with the stop leak is that it plugs up more than just your leaking radiator. sounds like your heater core is pluged up. you can try runing a flush in your system and putting new antifreeze in. it if its not to late.

The heater is blowing cold to warm air. The fluid level is good. What could be the problem? The thermostat or heater core?

Have you had any fluid leak into the vehicle, particularly on the passenger side... or smelled anti-freeze? You'll have to note how long it takes the vehicle to warm by watching the thermostat gauge. If it seems as if it's taking an insanely long amount of time to warm up or actually tends to overheat, then the thermostat is most likely getting stuck in an open or closed position. Most of the time, when the heater core goes shot, it ruptures and spills antifreeze out. But since you said the fluid level is good, my bet would either be the thermostat or the temperature selection knob itself.
Another thought could be the system being clogged. If you've used any radiator stop-leak, it can clog the heater core sometimes.
