SOURCE: 1997 dodge ram 1500 (360) transmission.

My 95 Cummins Dodge had the same problem and adding "Lucas Transmissiion Fix" cured it completely and permanently.

Thier claim is as follows:

Lucas Transmission Fix is a non-solvent formulas that stops slip, hesitation and rough shifting in worn transmissions and completely eliminates most seal leaks. Use in any transmission for preventative maintenance.Use also in light duty manual transmissions to increase shifting ease and transmission life.
Key Benefits

  • Contains no solvents
  • Lowers operating temperatures and stops foaming
  • Can be added to existing fluid without draining any out
  • Effective in an extremely high percentage of cases

The sensor in the differential is for the ABS. Did you replace the sensor for the speedometer in the end of the transmission?

My 1997 dodge 1500 pickup had the check engine light come on I disconnected the battery cause a friend told me it would give a code on what was it will not come back on the truck is running...

Yeah disconnecting the battery would clear the code not cause it to come on. When you turn the ignition on the light should flash, it will be maybe three flashes then pause then let's say eight more flashes, this would be a very generic code, such as fuel system to lean, o2 sensor, for example. The codes may be still stored or will obviously come back again. Don't drive it to make it shake or do damage. Go slow and take it to auto zone or oreilly or similar and have it scanned for free. If not an option for you let me know and I can help you out

When do i change the 4-speed w/overdrive automatic transmission fluid in my 2007 dodge 1500 ram it has a 3.7 magnum v-6, i just turned 30000 miles

i personally recommend around every 50 000 miles. i also have a ram, have done this, and never had an issue. i would also recommend having your differential and transfer case fluid changed at the same time. good luck!

Over drive lght stays on all the time when the key is on.

Chances are the overdrive solenoid went bad as it should revert to on when restarted, check the rpms at 55mph to see if its in overdrive or not,I think there is a relay for the solenoid under the hood it could be bad
