Question about 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser
Engine light comes on and most times LC goes into "limp home mode" with half power. Tried stopping/starting etc, have found travelling along slow will eventually (several minutes) kick the LC back into normal and light off. Initially happened last April, Toyota Service said "not sure why" - then again in Oct, Service said "replace fuel pump, lines and all injectors" (massive cost). Have been adding injector cleaner to fuel since. Happens to some degree each time driven, sometimes the engine sounds like it is going to go into half mode without light coming on, sometimes half mode with light.
I can only relate this problem to those similar to Ford F150's,,,on the fords it would be bad grounds from the battery to the frame, and engine,,and from the engine to the Firewall.
This would play havoc with the ECM especially when it was damp.
So i can only suggest the obvious to me at least.
Good luck to you.
