Question about 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
When i go over bumps i can hear clunking noises coming from the rear end. if i take the top of either rear (tire) and start pushing in and out at the top toward the center of the rear end, i hear a metal slapping sound. the truck has over 220,000 miles. truck runs fine on the highway.

Your problem is too vaguely stated to make a proper diagnosis, but it definitely sound like you have some damage occurring.
Time to have it checked out soon at a service center.
