Question about 2001 Toyota Camry
When the lever is pushed up for a left turn indication, in a right hand drive Camry, the lights sometimes work and other times don't. If the lever is held up but not pushed all the way the turn indicators work correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
The turn signal indicator switch could be corroding (getting rusted on the inside). You could take it out & break the corrosion/rust & lubricate it with wd40 & put it back in..hopefully it solves the issue. If not, then you might need to get another indicator switch. You start off by taking off the steering wheel neck panels

SOURCE: The malfunction indicator light
Don't reset the battery, as it will only remove the error code but does not fix the problem. You may want to locate a store that can
check obd 1 (1995 and older).

I respectfully disagree with the post by C17Hydro.
The turn signal flasher relay is under the DASH, on the left side of the main fusebox; it is not under the hood.

You most likely have a short in your lever on the side of steering wheel loose wire that is touching or shorting sometimes.... Worth checking it out
