Motor light keeps coming on

Would need to know what make , model an year the vehicle is ?

How can you KEEP getting a dash light light,
when you check for codes the same day or
next day any light comes on & stays on after
the motor is running

Now you have cylinder misfires & probably
ruined the exhaust converter using it

Fords are famous for the idle speed control (ISC) motor.

97 350 .... 9 ft Western unimount isaramic . New 9 pin . Truck and plow side . New plow motor .new relays and solenoid . . Plug 9 pin in and plug power cord to to . Lights come on. Motor kicks in when I turn on the controller . But stays running and no movement. Test light the plow solenoid . All have power . New fluid. I'm buying a new pump for 200 hoping that's the problem . But I'm stumped on the new motor ...... Old motor had 1 post . Ground to frame . New motor has two posts . Post and neg to motor .... If I switch the ground back to plow frame like the old one. Nothing works but lights stay on . When I reconnect the ground back onto the motor . Lights go out and motor turns on. . Possibly blew relays? It's a new motor . Stumped

You made no mention of checking for the cause of the main
problem,the battery drain

Have you not used an amp meter to check for parasitic drains?

The battery light comes on ?
You can not have any lights on after the motor
starts

Checked Alternator how-that light has to go
out when the alternator is running

Your best bet is to start the car and let the water pump bleed it out for you. If you have a radiator cap, keep it off so you can check the coolant level. As the motor warms up, the level will drop. Add coolant until the level stops dropping or until the coolant starts to overflow. As long as the engine stays cool, there is no danger in damaging the motor.

The coolant will not come gushing out and get all over you, so don't worry.

there is short somewhere. fuses don't blow if there is no short or overload. check the switches.
