2005 Lincoln navigator suspension problem

3 days ago, I had the o'rings replaced in the front suspension, as the suspension would not raise in cold temps. I was told there was a leak detected. Well since I got the car back, the suspension will still not raise when I first get in. Yes, the compressor comes on, but the car will not raise until the car is driven 5-10 miles. But since the o'rings have been replaced the passenger side takes longer to raise, so the car is now leaning. I had the height sensor replaced two months ago. I am concerned as to why the right side is now not raising with the left side. Once both sides do raise there is a difference in the heights by .50 inch.

Thanks for the suggestion. I contacted a Lincoln service mgr, who asked if the suspension was calibrated after the repair was completed. Found out that they did not. Took it back to the repair shop today and that is what the problem was. Hope this holds up. I have spent $1000.00 so far on this suspension, and that's just the front. Again thanks for your suggestion. God Bless.

Well my suspension evened out after the calibration, but still having the same issue with the suspension not raising in the mornings in the cold weather. I plan to take it to the Lincoln Dealership when I return from my business trip. I have grown tired of dealing with the issue.. And no I am not changing out my air ride for a Strutmaster Conversion Kit. Don't want my Navigator riding like a truck.

Yes, I agree. The 2003 on up Navigator has the worst designed and most expensive system that has ever rolled out of Ford Motor Company. Do yourself a favor and do a Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Conversion 03 06 This IS the only way to be able to count on this vehicle.

SOURCE: my 04 navigastor dropped on

Constructive----I have a very complicate 2004 Linclon LS and relatives have the Navigator, and Expeditions,Etc.

These vehicles have so many issues, dealers are not an option, because of cost, and there inability to even find an issue, that fortunately, I have done my own repairs for 47 years and stayed up with the technology.

I would say unless you have a local shop and a few dollars left,to diagnose and repair that air ride system, which I don't see as a problem, I would recommend you replace the suspension with conventional parts ,such as strutmasters offers or other Mfg may have. That way eliminate the air suspension issues.
It is ten years old and you will have the rest of it's ownership ,making love ,to constant COP Ignition Coil problems and more,so you don't need to stay with suspension issues

You should no way be at a dealer, for any make or model vehicle ,after the warrantee runs out.
If you have deep pockets, want nothing repaired and as people have coined it,get ripped off (over charged) then a dealer will hook you up

SOURCE: i have a 2001 lincoln navigator the rear suspension is down i hear the pump come on but it will not raise by the way i had the pump replace about 8 months ago what could be the problem and can i fix i

The air bags commonly go bad on these trucks as well as the Expeditions. They are called Air Springs. I sell better quality ones than those sold at auto part stores and they are also a bit cheaper than dealer parts. But either way the problem is you have bad air springs.

2004 Lincoln navigator air suspension all the way down front and back if I was to jump the relay to turn compressor on should the truck start raising up unless compressor not pumping or a leak

no it wont. the air suspension works as a complete system. each air spring has an electric solenoid, each corner has an electric height sensor and then the compressor itself. just energizing the compressor will not open the solenoids or sensors both of which are needed to raise the vehicle. what is probably happening is a failure in the computing system for the suspension system. expensive to repair.

How to repair the suspension on a 1999 lincoln navigator

Any Navigator that is 4 years old & just out of warranty
you replace the air suspension with conventional conversion
kit

I had a person yesterday that gave a lincoln dealer $9,600
since it was new in 2003 & still wants to pour more into it
& refuses to believe most people do the conversion

Seems the dealers can't solve those issues

On it's cousin the Expedition no problems & their is
air on the back

The Navigator is to Ford as the Oldsmobile was to
GM in the 1960's & later, sort of a test bed of bad ideas

The rear end of my Lincoln Navigator will not raise.

could just be a seal on the air line itself, or possibly a whole in the line or one of th eleveling air bags. gong thru the water should'nt have any effect on it,unfortunately these are just like any other part, or seal they just eventually wear out.

My Lincoln Navigator air suspension went flat after we replaced all four tires, it won't air back up...please help!!!

AIR COIL SPRINGS WILL DEFLATE AND BE DAMAGED IF YOU DID NOT TURN OFF AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM BEFORE RAISING VECHICLE AND CHANGE TIRES IF YOU DONT TURN OFF AIR SUSPENSION IT WILL CAUSE AIR SPRINGS TO OVER INFLATE CAUSE AIR SPRING SPRING DAMAGE.

Front suspension goes down and does not come up mostly at night. Sometimes as i start the car in the morning it comes back up and stays like that all day. but not always

I tell everyone with any lincoln product, mostly 2005 & older

Navigators mostly ,that the Air Ride System is too difficult & expensive
to diagnose & keep repairing over & over & over,as in your case
for decades

Just install conventional shock/struts & get ride of the air
