Vito 2006 109cdi. fuse number 41 is blowing (engine fuse)

Hi, engine management light is coming on the dash. i've checked the fusebox and fuse number 41 was blown. i replaced and then turned the engine on, the engine management light was still on and then i checked the fuse again and it was blown again. i tried this process 3 times, same result. in the owners manual, fuse number 41 is called 'engine fuse' and it's 10amp. the van is very sluggish especially uphill. i tried a 30amp fuse, that didn't blow, however the management light is still on, but its running normal now (not sluggish). please help. what is the function of fuse number 41 (engine fuse). many thanks

Engine light stays on
the ecu will have fault codes stored to be read
that will point to the cause and a fix of the over load

my best information on a vito if diesel..says
10 amp fuse 41 . glow plugs

you must need the van on the road very badly
30 amp in a 10 amp fuse position can
melt the wiring even a fire

Do both fans work for sure? You may want to replace the fans runs anywhere from 140$ up to 250$ depending on the brand.

SOURCE: Blows fuses when parking lights are turned on. Headlights work fine even running lights.

If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords

SOURCE: 1996 ford f150 blows the 10amp fuse going to the speed odometer.

I'm glad you found what was causing the fuse to blow. A wiring diagram is almost a must when troubleshooting electrical. you may be able to find that sensor at a pick-a-part or wrecking yard. Just be extreamly careful, it is very easy to set off the air bag. Make sure that all power is off before working around that area.

2001 grand marque when i try to turn it over it clicks a lot then a 20 amp fuse under the dash blows. when i try it again the check engine light comes on, fuel pump does turn on, what could it be?

check engine light comes on ! Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes , that would probably point to the problem . What does the fuse power ? What number is the fuse ? A fuse blowing is a direct result to a short to ground .

97ford f150 4.6l 4x4 25maxi fuse keep blowing

Hi James Hollins, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information.

By "25 maxi," are you referring to fuse number 25, or a fuse rated at 25 amps? If the latter, which fuse number is it and in which fusebox, engine or interior (under dash)??

Fords are tricky with fuses. For some "user-UNfriendly" reason, the fuse-box only shows the fuse number, and you need to look in the owner's manual to find-out which component is protected by a given fuse by its number.

Once you know the components served by the blown fuse, you can isolate the cause of high current draw.

Tell me the fuse number and its block's location (interior or engine area), and we go from there. Thanks.

Replaced battery and now radio won't come on how do I get the code to unlock it

There are multiple things that can cause this to happen.
a) Maybe they didn't connect all the wires to the battery.
b) There might be a blow fuse, check car's manual for the fuse location, it might be under passenger side dash, or it might be located in a fusebox next to the engine.

Option a is more likely if your car's battery wires looked like this10_18_2012_9_31_30_pm.jpeg

Well, if a mechanic on-site can't find the problem, you probably need a technician trained on Pontiac or GM systems.
Automotive systems today are so complicated and diverse, I couldn't even hazard a guess, and I've worked on cars and trucks for over 30 years. Us shadetree mechanics have just about seen our waterloo. Sorry, Denise.

When the lights on dash are on it says fuse is blown but when i check they are all ok

Just in case: If you've checked all the fuses in the main fusebox, you may not have checked all the fuses in the car! Unfortunately, there are sometimes auxiliary fuseboxes under the dash, possibly even under the bonnet/hood. I can think of two other possibilities: a) the car diagnostics circuit that measures the resistance of fuses to determine if they are blown, has itself developed a fault. b) A fuse is on the limit - it'll probably blow soon but is currently high resistance so the diagnostic unit is seeing it as blown. The only way to check this is to go through them one at a time with a very low range ohmmeter :{{

Oh, and some dashboards have a fuse on board for the lights, and some headlight systems have fuseholders near the headlights themselves.

Sorry, I don't know your vehicle so can't be more specific but hope this helps.

Hi,
Looks like the park light harness got a short circuit.
Check the wire harness leading to the tail light. One of the power wire( usually red wire ) is stripped off the rubber insulation and touches the metal body ground. Check also the tail light connection and bulbs base contact points..
When you found the wire insulate it by using any plastic electrical tape.
Thanks for asking FixYa!

Nissan 2001 Rear Running lights are out, as are the dash, interior and dome lights. I've heard it's one fuse, 15 amp, under the hood, next to the battery

I know of few cars that place fuses used for lighting (etc) in the engine compartment ...but what do know? lol... I would sooner think your problem is either a relay or fuse INSIDE the vehicle and in close proximity of the fusebox (the one that has the fuse for turn signals, dash, headlamps, 4-way flashers (which is a relay of course). Also, if it controls all of those items, I would be looking for a 20A fuse ....15amp sounds a little 'light'... Cheers mate!

Take it to a repair shop & then use the
computer to study OBD2 Systems & get
a cheap code reader

Look at a fuse, they do not fix anything
& hardy ever blow.

When you say check light has been on for awhile
Are you not aware of why the dash light come on?
They have been on all vehicles for 31 years now

Any dash light is a System Malfunction,& you need to
check for codes within a couple of days or stop using
the car, each & every time, unless you understand the
current OBD2 Systems & have at least a code reader
Not finding what you are looking for?
