SOURCE: how to change a serpentine belt

You sent the additional question in the Solution portion of the other original posting...I just happened to stumble upon it when you rated me a "2" out of "4" on the original Posting/Question. A "2" is not good for my 94% Rating!
As far as step-by-step:
The Tensioner Pulleys have two (2) types:
1. If it has an Adjustment Nut located near it: Loosen (counterclockwise) the nut. You will see the Pulley and Belt moving, loosening the belt.
2. The other type of Tensioner is an Automatic Tensioner. The standard rule with these is to move the Tensioner Pulley (it has a strong spring keeping it in place) in the direction of:
(a) Away from the Belt (contact with the Pulley portion).
(b) Towards the open area of the Pulley = towards the direction where the Belt is not iin contact with the Pulley.

Again: Let me know if this helped you, or if you have any additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com! And please don't use a "2". And yes you may change your original Rating from 2 to 4 if you wish....

My 2008 Kia Sorento automatic won't always change up the gears it just revs high and won't change gear till I take my foot of the accelerator pedal then it will change gear

Sounds like a kick down cable is out of adjustment. It could also be the transmission shift control solenoid. You may want to call Kia to see if your transmission is one that was recalled and needs to have the software updated. Kia has had issues with 2005 up Sorentos and hard shifting issues. It may a simple software update to your car to fix it. Repair bulliten says somewhere around 377,000 cars were affected. Would be a free fix. Hope this helps

2004 Kia Sorento V6, automatic transmission, has a clicking noise upon acceleration. My husband added transmission fluid, as it was low, and the noise went away. A couple days later when gunning it to get...

In my experience with my 2005 Sorento the sounds you are hearing are either a universal joint that has gone bad or your carrier bearing is bad. The carrier bearing is the bearing mid way down the drive shaft. It supports the drive shaft. That is a very common problem in Sorentos. If you feel a shudder along with the clicking noise I would say it is the bearing. No shudder than I would guess universal joint.
