How would I adjust the pressure ?

  • Dereck Lowry Jan 02, 2013

How would I adjust the pressure ? Should I just replace the force motor? My understanding is that the force motor controls the pressure? Is that accurate?

  • Anonymous Jan 03, 2013

You will need to ask a transmission specialist. There are a few different bolts on the outside of the transmission housing that adjust the pressure through the veins in the tranny for shift points. If you find them you may have to play a guessing game as to which ones will affect which gear.

It sounds like a weak tranny, when you take the load off, and it shifts.

SOURCE: I have a 1966 Ford Falcon with a C4 transmission.

I would begin by replacing the filter if its not new, 2 possibility of issue, faulty shifting module or defective transmission rebuilt. just because it has been rebuilt does not mean the individual work on it did a good job. the less cost effective way is to locate used modulator from ebay or junk yard, if that does not rectified the issue than more likely it will be the tranny. the bad part is that I dont know of a company offer a bench test for the tranny modulator.

SOURCE: 04 Silverado no second gear

check color and smell of trans fluid, if not bright red and had a pugnant odor then the trans needs to come out and torn down, You can try a fuel filter that can cause a driveability problem

Transmission has to be manually shifted. Downshifts on its own, and i can take off in 1st but only at very slow speed. 2nd and 3rd gear seem fine other than manually shifting.

u need a scan using factory or vehicle specific gear--values of components will be diplayd so an xperiencd tech can decyfr--littl code readers dont du it---w age of car certain sensors etc need replacin-believe that trans is electric controled--dont rplace any parts til uve isolated issue----------also go to magicmechanic online and checout the napa library on that model

The direct drive sungear is most likely the problem inside the transmision. The brass bearings do wear and the gearing get sloppy causing this noise. A complete tear down of the trans will have to be performed or a rebuilt trans is needed. If this has many miles on it replace the trans

I would check the wire harnesses for damage (pinching, cuts and such) from the transfer case. There may be damage from the trans install. Also fuse panels both under hood and interior. Since no lights are on it is probably a fuse or the harness is disconnected.

95 Blazer trans noise

Its best to just drive it until it quits, you got yourself an exceptional blazer, start messen with trans. now i think would be a mistake, take the mechanics advise, drive it, and enjoy it for as long as you can. Consider yourself luckey most people don't get half that milage before the trans. has to be replaced or rebuilt.

Transmission

try checking all fuses the ones in the fuse box inside as well as under the hood. sometimes you have to check the fuses because of a wire touching in the transmission before you had it rebuilt. Try that out and if not I would go back to whom ever rebuilt the transmission.. I have turning wrenches for 22 years and the last ten in my own shop. I come across allot of 99 silverados with trans and transfer case problems. Hope you find a burnt fuse.
