Question about 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
If the oil level is not low, better have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge by a shop. No or very low oil pressure can be fatal for engines. Possible your oil pump is worn. If the pump is good, oil pressure can be affected or lost if the crankshaft bearings are worn. Has the oil and filter been changed regularly?

your oil sensor comes on at less than ten psi, you may have internal engine damage how many miles on engine, any gum up inside engine, you can try to put on a high pressure high volume melling oil pump to try to help for the time being, but you may need to have it torn and repaired.

It could be caused by a bad pressure switch, or a failing oil pump. Has the oil and filter been changed lately. A clogged oil filter or low oil level would also cause the pressure to drop. There may be sludge in the oil pan that is getting picked up by the oil pump and blocking oil flow. You would start out with good pressure, then as the debris is picked up, the pressure would drop.
