Toyota starters are good quality units. You can take them apart and clean them and put new brushes in as required, if that is all they need. Often that is all they need.

A repair manual for your rav would have the complete dismantling and testing procedure for the starter. You would need or borrow a volt ohm meter to fully test for an internal short. Quick and easy steps, but you need the procedure. So recommend you consult a manual.

My engine is lock,I just put a new starter on it and my battery is good,I want to sell it 2000 Oldsmobile Alreo..

If the engine is "locked" (won't crank), the only thing you can do is REBUILD THE ENGINE.
Consider selling the vehicle to a scrap yard.

2000 Lincoln Navigator Ignition switch get stuck burning three starter up

The solenoid is stuck... replace the solenoid. It is best to take the entire starter off and take it to a rebuild shop and they will bench test it for you and you'll only pay for what they replace. Oftentimes, it's not the starter that's at fault, but the ignition switch!

1999 cadillac starter

Unless these starters are rebuilt by AC Delco, Bosch, or other major player rebuilders they are likely very poor quality rebuilds. It sounds like the problem you have may be the starter solenoid contacts are burnt. When they rebuild the starter at the cheap shops they only replace what is showing up as defective, so not all worn parts are replaced. As a professional tech for over 35 years and a ASE Master technician I only use OEM rebuilds, never Autozone or other so called discount auto parts stores rebuilds. If you want to order from a site that has quality rebuilds at cheap rebuild prices go to the website at the link below.. I have seen people who bought 4 starters to get one good one, same goes for Alternators

My starter on my 2000 Suziki quad makes a clicking sound and won't turn the engine over.

Either the starter will have to come out for testing, rebuilding, or replacing, or the battery is not strong enough to power the starter-maybe it's low on charge. Are all your battery and starter connections clean and tight? Verify the condition of your battery before you condemn the starter.

I HAVE A 2000 TOYOTA TUNDRA HERE MY STARTER JUST CLICKS THEN TURNS OVER

These starters have copper contact plates in the solenoid part. When they wear out, they flatten, reducung the contact area. Usually resulting in one or more tries (clicks) to get them to swell from electrical heat to make enough contact to start vehicle. Can be replaced by a handy person, and the rebuild kits are available online, or you can just replace the entire starter with a rebuilt one.

Starter won't turn but lights stay bright when ignation is activated

With the ignition off, locate the starter, use a handle from a broom or hammer and give the starter a whack. Try this a couple of times, it may get it going. Over time the "brushes" wear and the resulting dust coats the little copper contacts, this in turn insulates it so no current will pass and the starter will not turn. It may work a few times before it plugs again, so look into getting ready to purchase a rebuild or new starter.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord Lx and have recently had problems starting the vehicle. It has had a basic tune up ( spark plugs, oil, oil filter, and spark plug cables.) and all the fluids are good. battery...

I would suspect the starter if the battery passes a load test - even though the starter turns over it may have such a high resistance that it cannot turn fast enough. The starter can be tested at your local auto parts store but you'll need to remove it first. If it's one of the expensive types you may be able to have the brushes and armature replaced / inspected.Doing this job is not too difficult but can go bad, so I would recommend having a local rebuilder or shop do the job unless your comfortable with doing it yourself. You can go to your local library and likely find a repair manual or " how to " book on rebuilding starters.

Truck won't turn over

Sounds like your starter is dead.  Take the starter to a local auto parts store and they will test it for you.  I would be that is your problem and you will just have to purchase another one and install.  Install shouldn't be too hard.  Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.
