Question about Cars & Trucks
Using the remote keyless entry, the doors lock/unlock, but the inside locking button doesnt work on either side. At first, it was just passenger side. bought a new lock switch, attached it then it worked fine for about a month. then the driver side and passenger side stopped working. I dont know the cause as it appears everything was attached correctly after i checked both sides. Coincidence or something else????

I had a similar problem with my son's 1998 Jetta K2 4 door. I sprayed loads of WD40 into the locking area from the end of the door through the clip slot, worked the mechanism sprayed some more and finally it start working. My mechanic said these are very prone to moisture causing rusting on the moving parts.

SOURCE: locks not working properly
been there ------open up the rubber connector between the drivers door and the body [by the door hinges ] the wires break from flexing. just solder or **** connector them back together. it helps to add some wire to one of the broken ends to make it easier to connect . there may be more than 1 wire broken

no connection of the two, start by checking switch for heated seat, if power is there and switch is good then heating element is probaly bad,the lock could be linkage jam or lock acuator, good luck.
