Question about 2006 Mahindra Scorpio 2.6
My Mahindra Scorpio Crde 2.6 SLX hasn't been driven for many months and now when I drive it, there appears no pick-up, i.e. when I depress the accelerator pedal it takes a while for the rpm to climb on the tachometer. There appears a delay in reaching the optimum rpm of the engine and hence it has to be driven at lower gears for longer periods of time which has caused the engine to stop responding (dying). Resulting in overheating of the engine. Recently after having driven it for a 6-9 kms (over 5 flyovers) it stopped running, had to leave the engine switched off for an hr and then it was drivable again. Any clues on what the issues and solutions might be?

This vehicle should still be under the Manufacturer Warranty for Time and Mileage,. Review your Owner Manual and Handbook for Warranty Limits, based on the present Odometer reading, and the Date of Original Registration.
Should the Warranty period cover your fault[s] then the nearest Dealership will carry out FOC, any Warrantable repairs necessary, and if the repair time is expected to be long, then at their costs, to provide a Loan Vehicle.

It is most ideal that the job be done with a well equipped authorised service center. It is important that sine your vehicle had clocked so many kms, the entire vehicle needs a good closer look.
it must start with the engine, if there is vibration then there can be imbalance of the engine , need to check the condition of all four cylinders. Also the suspension, links and shocks, brakes, alignment and chassis/doors , hinges for rattling and vibrations.
