it is different all the time. sometimes it will restart right away. sometimes, it takes 2 or 3 tries. and a couple of times, i have had to wait several minutes, take the key out, open the door and try again to get the car started

Will it restart immeadiately, or do you have to wait?

This sounds like a fuel pump issue. It could be the pump, or it could be the Master Relay.

You need to check the tcm for codes too. The s3 light is like the check engine light for the tcm. The VSS code might be your problem.

The only way to For sure fix this is to have a Mechanic run a Diagnostic Check on the Entire car to locate the Problem. Fixing small things here and there will not get you anywhere with this Honda.

93 prelude starting problems

I had a similar problem on my 93 Prelude. Apparently the original ignition module has a high plastic content. This doesnt do well with heat obviously. I had the ignition replaced with an aftemarket part that did not use as much plastic in its pieces and it fixed the problem.
