Question about 1998 Subaru Impreza

Subaru 1998 wrx hesitation

I have a 1998 wrx wagon non-sti that has done 130k. When driving under a little acceleration my car will hesitate slightly. This will stop if i give it a lot of acceleration but continue as I ease off it. It mainly does it on the motorway while I am trying to maintain a constant speed. It has also stalled once when I put the clutch in while going 100k the revs just dropped and kept going down until it stalled. This hesitation does not happen all the time only around three times a week. Any help would be appreciated

Hi , I had that problem with my wrx.Turned out the o2 sensor in the exhaust was faulty. The hasitation came on only on the open road.

I put the wrong octane in my '08 wrx sti

all impreza recommends high ROM.
although 99ron or 100ron is recommended, some uses unleaded for non-turbo and of course notice a sligth defference in performance using high ROM fuel.
in your case is the reverse, means does't need to drain for a change.

I have a 2002 subaru wrx with sti package (whatever that means). i bought it like that about four years ago. i am good with getting regular oil changes and tune ups. last tune up was last spring. this...

hi this sounds like it could be a faulty throttle position sensor as these usually cause the sensor to think the throttle is closed/half closed when it could be wide open or other way round so best bet would be get that checked at a garage, a tune up usually wouldnt include testing that unless specifically asked for and if it gets regular tune ups/services i would rule out a fuel filter problem. Hope this helps in some way, as for the sti they are the hardcore version of the wrx they come with bigger turbos, semi forged internals, remapped computer, better suspension, air intakes and a short shift gearbox and so on, let me know how you get on

Subaru impreza uk model wrx stalls and low idle, hesition

try adjusting the throttle cable, its a case of loosening a nut, pulling the cable through a bit more and then tightening it back up, you find it on the right hand side of the engine block close to the exhaust manifold.

Changing air filter and fuel filter

Both are under the hood and easy to get to. As for the Air Filter nobody beats K&N they are simply the best. Any fuel filter thats the right one will do.

I cant remove my key from the ignotion 04-05 wrx sti

You are going to have to have you ignition tumbler replaced. (Talk about insult to injury!) It sounds like Repo-man slammed in a new tumbler to snatch your rex and didn't quite get it in right.
Good luck!
