Question about Ford Cars & Trucks
Hi I have a ford fairmont au11.
I have ordered another remote 2 days ago hoping it will arrive tomorrow.I have put a new battery into the current remote and all the lights are flashing but nothing is happening.
I can't get into the car because for some reason the damn key won't (never has) unlock the door key fits turns left and right but won't unlock. The boot won't open with remote or the alarm I am pretty confident the car battery is not flat or anything.
I really need to get into the car but can't work out how to do so without breaking a window.
I need to be able to get into the car to reprogramme the new remote and also get some things that are locked in the boot.
Do you think it's a remote problem or receiver or what.
Thanks in advance for your help

try locking and unlocking the car with the key 3 times slowly ,other than that i have no idea ?? another trick is to disconnect battery and join the cables together for a few minutes to discharge any capacitors that may be holding a charge in the computer..Only other thing i can think of is the main dealers who have the right connectors and software to re set it all .sorry i havent been of any help

Okay you may want to check to see if the sensor on door lock cylinder hasn't fallen off from the lock itself. Pull of the door panels and check the wires at the door lock cylinder. Hope this helps.

your alarm system has been tripped when the battery went dead, to get the information on how to reset the alarm is to call the car manufacture to get the procedure, and should not cost you anything.
