2003 Isuzu rodeo Pcv valve and grommet

3.2L v6 is the engine type. Not sure which Pcv valve and grommet was in it after some guy did tune up on it. Right now it has plastic pcv and the grommet need replacement (has chopped off). I saw a threaded metal Pcv valve over Internet; could this be the right one? I had been to a dealer but couldn't find the grommet but suggested buying the whole cylinder head. I called another dealer which said 03 model has no grommet. Please help me determine which is which.

SOURCE: PCV VALVE REPLACEMENT

The pcv valve is usually located on one of the valve covers look for the larger vacuum hose coming from the intake manifold and follow it you should find it that way. changing it is a matter of sometimes using a pair of pliers to remove a small clamp then rotate back and forth the pcv valve while holding the hose and pulling it away and off.

SOURCE: What part is needed on an 03' Rodeo that trouble

P1290 = Elec Throt Control Particulate Bank 1 Idle, This means you could have a problem with your throttle body. You will need to monitor your tps sweep on a scan tool to check for spikes. Sometimes this code is set when the battery is disconnected and resets adaptations.

If it keeps coming back, you most likely have a bad TPS sensor.

I hope helped with this (remember rated this help). Good luck.

97k on 3.2 liter V6 engine runs well but requires a quart of oil every 2 tanks of gas, is this common?

Hello rkyle1956
A quart of oil every 5 or 600 miles, is a bit excessive. First try replacing the PCV valve and using a
heavier oil. If you're using 5 or 10w-30 try 10w-40 a 20w-50 is bit heavy for cold starts, particularly
this time of year. If the PCV and oil change don't help and considering the milage, you could have
(in order of cost to repair low to high) bad valve seals-valve guides-piston rings-cylinder wear.
As you did not mention any oil leaks, this info is related to the engine burning excessive oil.
Hope it helps, good luck.

I have 2003 Explorer with 4.0L V6 engine. PCV valve is really loose and won't stay inside the hole in valve cover. As a result oil is sipping through. When I checked using mirror and flashlight, the hole...

Yes - It should have a plastic grommet type thingy to sit in. Just push in, no threads.
Try to find one in junk yard or order from dealer.. How much could they cost?
You could try an actual grommet.. but must be oil resistant.

1995-96 Isuzu Rodeo transmission swapable?

No they are not compatible. They changed the crank between 95 and 96. I have a 96 that needed an engine swap and the dealer that I bought it from was paying for the engine, he bought a 95 engine and after a month of trying the mechanic said no way no how, the crank between the two is different.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2002 Isuzu Axiom

The PCV valve is inserted in the valve cover (through a rubber grommet); your particular valve looks like this:

f9bfdb9.jpg The blue part of the valve is in the valve cover, and there is a rubber vacuum hose connected to the other end...

I'm not quite sure on the exact location, but if you look around it shouldn't be too hard to spot.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 2003 ford ranger

  • The PCV valve can be located in several places. The most common location is in a rubber grommet in the valve cover. It can be installed in the middle of the hose connections, as well as installed directly in the intake manifold.
  • Once the PCV valve is located, make sure all the PCV system hoses are properly connected and that they have no breaks or cracks.
  • Remove the air cleaner and inspect the air and crankcase filters. Crankcase blowby can clog these with oil. Clean or replace such filters.
  • Oil in the air cleaner assembly indicates that the PCV valve or hoses are plugged.
  • Make sure you check these and replace the valve and clean the hoses and air cleaner assembly.
  • When the PCV valve and hose are in satisfactory condition and there is oil in the air cleaner assembly, perform a cylinder compression test to check for worn cylinders and piston rings.

could be one of about 100 things.. personally, i think it's a combination of things that all happen to brake and fail at the same time. i've also run into this problem.
    - need new spark plugs, oil, filters - bad coil pack - bad wiring harness (around 70k miles they tend to cook & crack) - cracked injector o-rings - cracked intake manifold gaskets (upper & lower) - bad O2 senors - bad fuel pump
this is what was wrong with my 2003 isuzu rodeo, 4wd, 6cyl at 90k miles, but i had 2 bad coil packs. figures right?
