SOURCE: Transmission fluid capacity for 2000 Kia Sephia?

The four speed automatic shows a total fill (that is all the fluid it can hold) is 5.7 Quarts. So if you just dropped the pan and relplaced the filter, you shouldnt need more than 4 quarts and likely you would have a little extra with that.

You need to loosen all of the bolts holding the pan on the bottom of the transmission and let it run out that way. There is no drain plug unfortunately.

SOURCE: Changing transmission fluid for 06 Kia Sedona

Transmissions these days need very little maintenance, our fluids are advanced formulas that hold up for an average of 100,000 miles, most vehicle manufactures recommend no maintenance for automatic transaxles these days.As for a transmission flush I don't recommend this because it's an expense that is not needed and possibly could loosen some contaminants setting them loose to possibly clog some of the very small passages in the transaxle requiring full transaxle service, which could include removal, dissassembly, etc of your trans. Now draining and replacing fluid is OK if that makes you feel a peace of mind but normally not needed,if you decide to do that,as far as quantity just note approx. how much fluid is drained and purchase similar amount in quarts and then refill (DO NOT OVERFILL)
start engine, let it warm up to operating temp, then check the transmission dipstick for the correct level, remember the vehicle needs to be on a level surface, hot idiling in park when you check the fluid level. Good luck !

it will be easier ,quicker and cleaner for you to have the change done at an accredited auto transmission shop

2010 Kia Soul sometimes won't go in reverse. After I run it forward for a few miles it will work

Sure it's not low on trans fluid? Get a can of Sea-Foam Transmission Treatment(NOT MOTOR treatment) and add it according to directions. If it's a sticky valve body or servo, the Sea-Foam will get it going.
Once it starts working, do a fluid and filter change and it should be okay. don-ohio

Looking for the canister filter and drain plug for a 2003 kia sedona transmittion,it has a 3500 motor, this is what it is calling for at the auto parts store that i just purchased.

I do not understand the question, do you mean the transmission pan drain plug? If so there isn't one you must remove the pan to drain the transmission, they do this so you change the filter as well as the fluid.

I have same question asked by guest on 05/17/2010 but do not see an answer. How do you change the manual transmission fluid on 2004 kia rio?

On the very button of the transmission, will be a plug, might even read drain on it, on the side will be another plug, might even read fill on it, both unscrew.

WHILE DOING AN ENGINE OIL CHANGE I DRAINED THE AUTO TRANS FLUID BY MISTAKE. HOW DO I RE'FILL THE TRANS ?

Fluid Level Checking & Filling To Check:
  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle to read ATF temperature. ATF checking temperature should be 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C).
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4. Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  5. Allow the ATF temperature to reach 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C). Automatic transmission fluid inspection plug vw-07-00-7273.gif

  6. Remove the inspection plug from the transmission housing. Fluid is pipe will run out. If fluid continues to drip out, no additional fluid is needed. If only the fluid in the overflow pipe runs out, additional fluid is needed.
To Fill:
Automatic transmission fluid filler pipe vw-07-00-7274.gif

  1. Pry the cap from the filler pipe. The cap locking device will be destroyed during removal.
  2. Pull the plug from the filler pipe.
  3. Add fluid slowly with VAG 1924 or equivalent until fluid runs out of the inspection hole. Install the inspection hole plug.
  4. Install the plug in the filler pipe and secure with a new cap.

98 toyota camry transmission service.

You can drain and fill your trans. It will take 2.5 -3.0 quarts of DEX III trans fluid....goes in the fill tube. Or you can get said transmission flushed which changes all fluid including torque converter.....about 15 quarts. Way more thorough.

Where do you check transmission fluid 1995 pontiac firebird manual transmission 3.4 liter

Actually, on the manual tranny its more like a thin grease. There is a plug located on the side of the transmission, When you remove the plug, you should be able to stick your pinky in the hole and get a little grease on your finger. The fill line is to the bottom of the plug.
