Just to add to the above. When I did mine, the bearing kits didn't come with new cotter pins (split pins), so you may need to buy them separately

Did you grease the bearings? Did you torque the axle nut to specs? Did you put the emergency brakes back together correctly? Anything that is connected to the brake system should be done by a professional. You life may depend on it!

Rear end rumbles 94 towncar i have replaced main seal and wheel seal still making same sound

Hello, You may have damaged a bearing if you discovered the seals were leaking it may have dropped the axle lube too low to protect the bearings. When you were removing the wheel seal, you must have exposed the rear Emergency brakes on the 1 side you replaced the wheel seal on. You should have observed the condition of the part. The other wheel may have the Emergency brake dragging and making the noise you continue to hear.

A lot of times the lining from the E brakes will separate and fall into the drum/rotor. Then it will jam or grind until it is dust. While you worked on the differential was the driveshaft inspected for bad u-joints? Check the drive shaft joints while you are under the car.

You still may have a bad bearing on the opposite wheel you worked on. You may need to put the car on a lift and have a helper put it in gear. Be careful for long hair, loose clothes, etc and you can just take it easy on the speed you run it at.

2wd front wheel need to replace bearings or hub assembly which is best

A Front Wheel Drive Vehicle Can Have Two Types Of Rear Wheel Bearings: Serviceable Bearings, Or Nonserviceable, Sealed Bearings. When Sealed Bearings Fail, The Bolts Holding The Bearing And Hub To The Axel Or Control Arm Must Be Removed. When Installing The New Bearing Assembly, Torque The Bolts To Specifications. Some Manufacturers require The Use Of New Fasteners When Rear Bearings And Hubs Are Replaced.

When A Serviceable Wheel Bearing Is Used, The Bearing Can Be Disassembled And Packed With Grease. It Is Serviced Like A Front Wheel Bearing On A Rear-wheel-Drive-Car.
