Here goes. when i turn the key on, and the headlights are on, the turn signal indicators both come on. and the turn signals will not work. the headlights will be on but the running lights wont come on. the main brake lights dont turn on, but the third brake light is on. and the truck just cranks. checked fuses, cant find any bad. checked relays cant seem to find anything that would affect that. not really sure where to begin. been checking wires but they all look fine, nothing looks like it rubbed through. and it was all of a sudden. shut the truck off to go into a store. came out and it was doing that.
i cant turn my key to start my truck
I would check that the ecm is getting power even though it is turning over i dont think that the ecm is getting power. there should be a fuse as well as check the grounds from block to the battery.

The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

These are indications of a dead battery. Have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell. check that the battery posts and terminals are shiny clean and tight.

I had the same problem on a 92 & 95 Dakota years ago, replaced the turn signal switch in the column & found a loose ground wire in the harness back by the tail lights. Never had a problem again. If you're gonna try to replace the switch you will need tamper proof torques bits just FYI. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.
When signal lights stay on at indicators there's usually bad bulbs or the headlight switch is no good it's a self warning in the system check the bulbs for good elements if okay I'm pretty sure that the headlight switch is n / g
Sounds like the jolt from the barrier has caused a bad ground to occur. Look for a bad ground wire around the left headlamp in or around the headlight bucket. Tighten or replace the bad ground wire. A poor contact will cause the headlight to light dimly.
Not sure what the "someone tried to steal the car" indicators are on your vehicle, but a friend of mine once pushed his Pontiac instead of starting it, only a couple feet. He did other things with the door, the key, etc, and his car acted all sorts of erratic, and it would not start. We couldn't figure it out, so we gave up and called the Pontiac dealer. There was a series of things they prompted him to do, and in the end, his car started. Does your manual include anything regarding this type of a situation?
