Most likely it is the ignition rack gear that broke...a very common problem. Check out this website. They have the parts and the instructions for replacing the gear that broke inside the column.

Good luck

Gs 300 ignition switch

Best guess is the Solinoid (on top of the Starter) is the cause.
There will be a Main cable from the battery bolted onto the Solinoid. Near this (a separate terminal) will be a much thinner wire. This supplies the current from the ign. Sw. to the Solinoid.
Disconnect it. Re-Connect the battery.
If this doesn't fix the problem, Repair the Starter Motor.
If this fixes the problem, turn the Ign. Sw. on and touch the wire back to the terminal.
If the problem is back, the problem is the Ign. Sw.

How to fixed wont start engine..

test the following and fix it. GOD BLESS you.fe35589e-c7d2-4fa3-a813-99841956a6cb.gif
If nothing happens when you turn the ignition key to the "Start" position, it means that the starter motor doesn't turn over the engine. Most commonly this could be caused by a dead battery;
If the battery checks out OK, but the starter still won't crank, there could be a number of possible reasons. Here are some of them:

The ignition switch could be bad - it's a common problem. An ignition switch is an electrical switch installed at the back of the ignition lock mechanism. If jiggling the key in the ignition helps start the car, the ignition switch should be checked first.
The starter solenoid control wire could have a bad connection.
The starter motor itself or a starter solenoid could be bad.
A neutral safety switch is bad. If a car doesn't start with the transmission in Park, but starts in Neutral, it could be caused by a problem with a neutral safety switch.
.
A problem with vehicle's security system or some other electronic control module (e.g., ECM, BCM) may also prevent the starter from operating.

Why won't my '66 Mustang start with the ignition switch in start position?

Change your ignition key module and that will fix the problem. Problems with key modules can be attributed to the weight of the owners key ring. Some people have massive key rings with all sorts of gadgets on them causing them to become very heavy. This puts an unexpected load on the key module and the load can double with it swinging from side to side ect... Best advise, keep the key ring simple and light.

Took my ford focus to a dealer because key would not turn either way. They said it was the tumbler and would have to be replaced. They jusy called and said they installed new tumbler and reprogramed the...

The reason that the key wouldn't turn must have come from a malfunction of the ignition switch or the connecting rod, rather than the just the tumbler. Since the dash lights & gauges work now, at least part of the ignition switch is working, but apparently not the part that's engaged when the switch is turned to the "start" position.
By replacing just the tumbler, the dealership tech would have jiggled the connecting rod just enough to reseat it (and fix the jam that was causing the key to fail to turn in the tumbler), but didn't fix the real problem, which seems to be a worn out ignition switch or worn connecting/actuating rod.

Nissan altima 2000 with engine service light on. fault codes per mechanic p0325 and p1126. But he said mass air flow sensor malfunction. is this right?

p0325 is, ignition system or misfire, could be plugs, wires, or a bad coil. p1126 throttle control motor relay curcuit open.P1126 Power supply for the throttle control motor is provided to the ECM via throttle control motor relay. The throttle control motor relay is ON/OFF controlled by the ECM. When the ignition switch is turned ON, the ECM sends an ON signal to throttle control motor relay and battery voltage is provided to the ECM. When the ignition switch is turned OFF, the ECM sends an OFF signal to throttle control motor relay and battery voltage is not provided to the ECM. possible cause, Harness or connectors (Throttle control motor relay circuit is open Throttle control motor relay.

Wipers and washers come on when ignition switch is turned on

Probably the wiper motor. Typically the wiper control supplies a ground and the motors sometimes fail by shorting internaly to ground. The only fix is motor replacement or tear down and repair.
