hi from the uk as there are many types of distributor and from what you say re somebody has mentioned the rotor arm is screwed in place? if memory serves this could be that if you turn rotor arm whilstin engine by fingers you may see two screws underneath that secure rotor to the b/weights whichhave springs attached hence having to rotate the rotor against springs? however if this is not the type of rotor? then it is not uncommon for rotor arms to sieze on the drive shaft so suggest you obtain replacement in case the old one cracks on trying to remove ?

Yes there is a small bolt or screw holding the rotor on the distributor, but you have to turn the motor over either by hand or by turing the key for just a second at a time. there is a opening on the distributor that when the shaft is turned just at the right angle, will show the bolt/screw to remove the rotor. if you have any questions, email me at thadoggma420@hotmail.com

Sounds like moisture in the distributor cap to me. I would definitely start there first.

if you have changed the distributor cap, rotor button, spark plug wires and plugs and you still dont have fire then its most likely your distributor.first check the fuses or relays if you have replaced those items.

Unfortunately you probably need a new distributor. There are three pick-up coils mounted down inside the base of it. They go bad quite commonly. The unfortunate part is; the new distributor will come with a new cap, rotor, coil and module...which you have already bought. The distributors are not that expensive though, maybe you can sell the extra parts???

No fire past coil

You need to pull the distributor cap and turn the engine over and see if the rotor is turning and check the wire from the coil to the cap.

timing belt broke. does it have a distributor? Take cap off and note position of rotor if it has one, bump starter and note if distributor rotor moved, if not you need a timing belt. also you can look under the oil cap to see valves and have someone start it, you should see the rockers move, if not, belt.
