Yes there is a small bolt or screw holding the rotor on the distributor, but you have to turn the motor over either by hand or by turing the key for just a second at a time. there is a opening on the distributor that when the shaft is turned just at the right angle, will show the bolt/screw to remove the rotor. if you have any questions, email me at email@example.com

if you have changed the distributor cap, rotor button, spark plug wires and plugs and you still dont have fire then its most likely your distributor.first check the fuses or relays if you have replaced those items.
Unfortunately you probably need a new distributor. There are three pick-up coils mounted down inside the base of it. They go bad quite commonly. The unfortunate part is; the new distributor will come with a new cap, rotor, coil and module...which you have already bought. The distributors are not that expensive though, maybe you can sell the extra parts???
timing belt broke. does it have a distributor? Take cap off and note position of rotor if it has one, bump starter and note if distributor rotor moved, if not you need a timing belt. also you can look under the oil cap to see valves and have someone start it, you should see the rockers move, if not, belt.
very easy remove distributor cap inside notice the position of the rotor when instaling it back need to be at the same place remove electrical wire remove bolt remove distributor 2 thing you have to do notice the place of rotor if not car wont start and put the distributor in the same position with the bolt holding it if not timing will be off good luck hope it FIXYA pierre
