Question about 2002 Mazda 626
My headlights are pretty dim and I want to replace the bulbs but my car didn't come with a manual. How do I get the old bulbs out?
On my Mazda I did the following:
- Pulled off the electrical connector socket from the back of the headlight housing.
- Pried off the rubber boot on the back side of the headlamp assembly.
- Removed the wire bracket surrounding bulb by removing the screw that held it in place, although it may be possible to remove the bulb without removing the bracket.
- Extract the bulb from the headlight assembly.
Reassembly was just the revrese of the above steps.

If the lens covers are yellow or discolored you would have to remove the lens and they have chemical at autozone or napa that can take care of this problem but to replace the bulb you open the hood and put your hand in behind the headlight assembly and there is a plug you normally turn counter clockwise and the bulb comes out always wipe the bulb off if you touch it with your hand because the sweat from your hand will cut the life of the bulbs
